Move over Paul Kelly, Michael Fassbender stuns JFK Sr. in Netflix's 'Kennedy'
Netflix brought out an aesthetic and polished Michael Fassbender as Joe Kennedy Sr. in its upcoming drama series, 'Kennedy'. The streamer released a behind-the-scenes first look starring the 'X-Men' alum. Along with the first look was also the introduction of the rest of the cast, as the series added 13 recurring names.
Latest additions, per Variety, include Nick Robinson as Joe Kennedy Jr., Joshua Melnick as Jack Kennedy, Lydia Peckham as Rosemary Kennedy, Saura Lightfoot-Leon as Kick Kennedy, and Laura Donnelly as Rose Kennedy. They join previously announced stars Ben Miles, Cole Doman, and Imogen Poots. Also in the mix is Georgina Bitmead as Eunice Kennedy, the fifth child of Joe Kennedy, Sr., and Rose Kennedy. Miley Locke plays Kick Kennedy, Joe and Rose’s fourth child. Rounding up are Tipper Seifert-Cleveland as Rosemary Kennedy, Joe and Rose’s third child.
Also starring are Hera Hilmar as journalist Inga Arvad, Wyatt Russell as Charles Lindbergh, Patrick Fischler as Arthur Krock, Caitlin FitzGerald as Clare Boothe Luce, a renowned American writer and socialite, Louis Landau as Billy Cavendish, Robin Soans as Neville Chamberlain, the British PM, Denis O’Hare as Raymond Furness, Albert Welling as Winston Churchill, Toby Huss as Franklin D. Roosevelt, the 32nd president of the United States, and Eddie Marsen as J. Edgar Hoover, the first director of the FBI.
The series is based on Fonredrik Logevall's 'JFK: Coming of Age in the American Century, 1917-1956'. The official logline reads, "Kennedy reveals the intimate lives, loves, rivalries, and tragedies that shaped the most iconic dynasty in modern history, and helped create the world we live in today. Beginning in the 1930s, the first season charts the improbable ascent of Joe and Rose Kennedy and their nine children, including rebellious second son Jack, who struggles to escape the shadow of his golden boy older brother." Sam Shaw serves as the showrunner, and is executive-produced by Peter Chernin, Jenno Topping, and Kaitlin Dahill.
