LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: 'Doctor Cha' has made its debut in the US and is available to stream on Netflix. The highly anticipated medical K-drama was released on the streaming giant with an international license. The series, with a budget of ₩ 15 billion (about $11-12 million), was penned by renowned screenwriter Jung Yeo-rang and directed by Kim Dae-jin, while STUDIO &NEW produced it. JTBC, a South Korean cable channel, is responsible for the distribution of the series, which is expected to captivate viewers worldwide.

In the first two episodes of 'Doctor Cha,' we get a detailed introduction to the characters we are dealing with. Cha Jung-sook (Uhm Jung-hwa) is a middle-aged married woman who is tired of being treated badly by her family. As a result, the former hospital doctor has decided to re-enter the healthcare field. She overrides her husband's arrogance and believes that she can still make a difference in her former profession.

What was 'Doctor Cha' Episode 2 about?

By the end of Episode 2, it looked like Jung-sook had landed her desired role as a resident in Seung-hee's (Myung Se-bin) department, so it's clear she still has what it takes. Meanwhile, we also meet In-ho (Kim Byung-chul), a cold-hearted chief surgeon who is incapable of caring for his wife. He not only denies her part of the fortune but also forces Jung-sook to be a housewife for 20 years. When he fails to donate part of his liver to his wife during a crisis, he loses his leverage. In-ho also has an affair with his former school crush, Seung-hee, showing that he does not care about his family. It will be interesting to see how In-ho will deal with Jung-sook's renewed passion and her constant presence at the hospital in the coming weeks.

When will Episode 3 of 'Doctor Cha' air on Netflix?

'Doctor Cha' Season 1 Episode 3 will be released on Netflix on April 22, 2023. The usual release time is 12 am PT, but sometimes this varies. We do not anticipate any changes to the schedule yet (sometimes this happens in the K-drama world).
