LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: 'Doctor Cha' has made its debut in the US and is available to stream on Netflix. The highly anticipated medical K-drama was released on the streaming giant with an international license. The series, with a budget of ₩ 15 billion (about $11-12 million), was penned by renowned screenwriter Jung Yeo-rang and directed by Kim Dae-jin, while STUDIO &NEW produced it. JTBC, a South Korean cable channel, is responsible for the distribution of the series, which is expected to captivate viewers worldwide.

In the first two episodes of 'Doctor Cha,' we get a detailed introduction to the characters we are dealing with. Cha Jung-sook (Uhm Jung-hwa) is a middle-aged married woman who is tired of being treated badly by her family. As a result, the former hospital doctor has decided to re-enter the healthcare field. She overrides her husband's arrogance and believes that she can still make a difference in her former profession.

What was 'Doctor Cha' Episode 2 about?

By the end of Episode 2, it looked like Jung-sook had landed her desired role as a resident in Seung-hee's (Myung Se-bin) department, so it's clear she still has what it takes. Meanwhile, we also meet In-ho (Kim Byung-chul), a cold-hearted chief surgeon who is incapable of caring for his wife. He not only denies her part of the fortune but also forces Jung-sook to be a housewife for 20 years. When he fails to donate part of his liver to his wife during a crisis, he loses his leverage. In-ho also has an affair with his former school crush, Seung-hee, showing that he does not care about his family. It will be interesting to see how In-ho will deal with Jung-sook's renewed passion and her constant presence at the hospital in the coming weeks.
