LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The fanfare of 'The Walking Dead' remains undead (pun intended) as we have gotten another major update from AMC on one of the upcoming spinoffs of the zombie apocalypse universe. Featuring the fan-favorite character of the same name, the first teaser for 'Daryl Dixon' has been released and there is already a lot to unpack.

The teaser revealed where the character played by Norman Reedus has directed his journey toward and gives a little insight into what his purpose for making this journey is. The short video confirms certain things while leaving many other questions unanswered.

Daryl Dixon shows post-apocalypse France

There were many speculations about this 'The Walking Dead' spinoff being set in some European country and it was later confirmed in a production behind-the-scenes video that the location of the show would be somewhere in France. This teaser only further confirmed it.

The initial teasers showed Daryl Dixon stranded on an upturned boat and washing up ashore to somewhere which is now confirmed as his destination France. The new teaser shows the sprawling scenic beauty of the country even after the supposed end of the world. Dixon is shown trekking through both narrow streets and steep hills littered with the walkers crawling everywhere which you can call France in a nutshell.

Dixon's goal in France and Season 1 reference

It is quite unclear at the moment what Dixon has gone to do all the way in France. In the extended first look video, you could spot a broken down 'Marseille' sign, one of the major cities of the country. He was previously shown leaving an audio message for someone saying, "My name is Daryl Dixon. I come from a place called the Commonwealth. It's in America. I went out looking for something, and all I found was trouble. If I don't make it back, want 'em to know I tried. Hell, I'm still trying." It could also just be a journal for himself or if someone were to find him as he strangely introduced himself in the beginning.

Dixon's goal seems to lie in a trashed laboratory which we see at the end of the video. It is possible that this is the same lab that was previously mentioned in the very first season of the main series 'The Walking Dead' by the doctor from the Center for Disease Control. This was again shown in the post-credits scene in the other spinoff 'The Walking Dead: World Beyond' but this is more of a theory than a confirmation. Given that Dixon had a goal ever since he made an exit from the main series on his bike, it is possible that there are certain connections between other storylines and characters and what his own motivations are.
