What to expect from 'The Acolyte' Finale: Here's our prediction
This article contains spoilers and speculation for 'The Acolyte'
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: 'The Acolyte' Episode 7 dropped on Disney+ on July 9, 2024. The episode featured an epic flashback that discovered the intriguing past of Master Sol (Lee Jung-jae) and its connection with the unending mysteries of the planet Brendok where he along with the other Jedi masters encountered Mae and Osha (Amandla Stenberg).
The episode broke the narrative flow and went 16 years in the past to show the history between the twins and Jedi Masters and how Osha's allegiance towards the Jedi is based on a lie.
With Osha still with Qimir (Manny Jacinto) on the unknown planet, there is a lot that the final episode has to cover to provide a fulfilling conclusion to the viewers of the show.
Fan expectations from 'The Acolyte' Episode 8
Fans have been vocal on the internet ever since the show began and have never shied away from expressing their opinion online. Before the episode starts streaming, fans have their theories on how the final episode is going to turn out.
A Reddit user listed down some expectations and theories including, "Sol's last name is finally shared and it's important to sw universe. We find out Vernestra trained Qimir and it was her whip lightsaber that burned him as a padawan. Sol has to make a choice, again, between Osha and Mae. He chooses Osha again, but whereas the last time it was essentially a "choosing the light side", this time it'll be for the dark side. Like his choice leads to his fall. We finally get to see Osha fight for real (Sol is a badass, and Osha was his padawan - Osha might have some serious skill)."
Fans were quick to respond with predictions of their own. A Reddit user commented, "Well considering this is 100 years before TPM I doubt we’ll see Dooku since he wasn’t born for another 2 years after this. In E1 he was around 60ish." Another Reddit user added, "If we don’t see Hego Damask, Rugess Nome and 11-4D then I’m going to be disappointed in Episode 8 and the entire show," predicting other 'Star Wars' characters.
A Reddit user predicted an important character's death in the final episode, "I predict the season finale will be between 30 to 40 minutes (not counting the credits). Also, Sol dies and is blamed for the Jedis' deaths (even though the Vernestra will most likely not give a plausible motive on why Sol would do that)."
Why Master Vernestra could be Qimir's former Jedi Master?
Episode 6 revealed that Qimir was a former Jedi and was thrown out of the Jedi Order for being vulnerable to emotions. As can be seen from the fan theories above, many people think Master Vernestra (Rebecca Henderson) could have some connection to Qimir and his past.
The reason for these speculations is the whip scar that Qimir had on his back in the episode. Master Vernestra is the one who uses the lightsaber whip and demonstrated the use of the whip in Episode 6 too when she sliced an umber-moth with the whip.
Episode 8 could reveal the true intentions of Qimir, and how he became a Sith lord, and the truth behind the connection between Master Vernestra and Qimir.
