LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: 'The Acolyte' Episode 7 aired on Disney+ on July 9, 2024. The intriguing episode delved deep into the fascinating past of Master Sol (Lee Jung-jae) and his connection with Brendok, the planet where Osha and Mae (Amandla Stenberg) were born and raised.

The episode had some revelations about Brendok and the creation of Mae and Osha as one consciousness in two bodies. It also revealed how Torbin (Dean Charles-Chapman) and Sol's interference with the witches led to the death of Mother Aniseya (Jodie Turner-Smith).

Finally, it reveals the choice Master Sol had to make between Mae and Osha and how it reveals his affection for Osha. An important aspect that doesn't get touched upon is the Qimir's (Manny Jacinto) past.

While many did expect Episode 7 to be a flashback episode, one aspect of the show that probably fell short of expectation was the makers not touching Qimir's past in this episode.

'The Acolyte' is an 8-episode series and there is only one more episode to go for the makers to explain the past and intentions of Qimir and how he became a Sith Lord.

Usually, the final episode of a series has a confrontation and there is no space for the exposition in it. The episode lengths for this series have also been 30-40 minutes.

In Episode 6, the makers touched upon Qimir's past and for them to completely go away from that narrative and only focus on Sol and Mae could be a major break in momentum.

Many aspects of Qimir's past, like his connection with Mae and Osha, his past as a Jedi, and his knowledge and skill of how the force is used, need to be desperately addressed in Episode 8.

It will be a surprise though, if the episode does not show a final confrontation between Sol and Qimir as Sol goes looking for Qimir and Osha. There is also a lot of speculation about the planet we saw Qimir on.

Episode 8 certainly has a job to do when it comes to explaining Qimir's character and origin and Episode 7 seems to be a huge lost opportunity as a large part of Episode 7 was a repeat of Episode 3.

How is Qimir connected to Mae and Osha?

As Qimir has already said, he is looking for a pupil and saw Mae as an ideal candidate before she did not live up to his expectations. He might look at Osha being his pupil now.

Qimir has been connected to mind control in the last few episodes and we see Mother Aniseya (Jodie Turner-Smith) control Torbin's mind in the episode. It could be possible that the witches have some connection with Qimir and the origin of the dark side.

Qimir is certainly stronger than the other Jedi and he dominated them all by himself in Episode 5. it could be possible that he had a connection with the vergence through which Mae and Osha were born.
