Amazon MGM Studios is officially revving the engine on one of Prime Video's biggest upcoming action titles, and the first images alone are enough to send anticipation into overdrive. 'The Wrecking Crew', an action-comedy headlined by Dave Bautista and Jason Momoa, has revealed its initial batch of stills. According to Collider, the film marks the first major big-screen-style collaboration between the two stars since their time together on Apple TV+'s 'See'. But this time, the tone is louder, funnier, and far more explosive. Also, 'The Wrecking Crew' is slated to premiere on Prime Video on January 28, 2026.

Directed by 'Blue Beetle' filmmaker Ángel Manuel Soto, the movie centers on Jonny and James, estranged half-brothers played by Momoa and Bautista. The pair are pulled back into each other's orbit following the sudden and suspicious death of their father. What begins as an uneasy reunion quickly spirals into a dangerous investigation that threatens to dismantle what remains of their fractured family. Momoa's Jonny is introduced as a volatile police officer whose relationship with authority is, at best, flexible. He operates on instinct, often bending the rules or breaking them outright if it means getting results.

Bautista's James, on the other hand, is a by-the-book Navy SEAL whose discipline and structure define his entire worldview. Their opposing personalities set the stage for a combustible partnership. As the brothers dig deeper into their father’s past, long-buried secrets begin to surface. Trust becomes a rare commodity, alliances are tested, and the line between right and wrong blurs rapidly. What they uncover isn't just a family mystery, but a far-reaching conspiracy with the power to destroy everything they thought they knew. Standing in its path, Jonny and James become an unstoppable force, willing to smash through anyone or anything blocking the truth.

The newly released images tease a bruising, sun-soaked action spectacle set against the streets of Hawaii, as per Deadline. The visuals also highlight the brothers' uneasy chemistry, hinting at both the humor and the emotional friction that fuel the story. Supporting the powerhouse duo is an impressive ensemble cast that includes Claes Bang, Jacob Batalon, Stephen Root, and Morena Baccarin. The script was penned by Jonathan Tropper alongside Jeff Fierson, with production duties shared by an equally notable group that includes Momoa, Bautista, Matt Reeves, and Lynn Harris. Beyond this collaboration, both stars are entering particularly busy phases of their careers.

Bautista is set to expand his villainous résumé with an upcoming role in ‘The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender,’ hitting theaters October 9, 2026. He also has a sequel to ‘Road House’ in development, along with a role in Chad Stahelski's long-awaited 'Highlander' reboot, where he'll face off against Henry Cavill. Momoa's slate is just as stacked. He's preparing for a high-profile return to the DC universe as the ruthless bounty hunter Lobo in 'Supergirl', while also lining up projects that range from comedy ('Animal Friends' with Ryan Reynolds) to video game adaptations and blockbuster sci-fi, including 'Dune: Part Three'.
