What is ‘Florida Man’ about? Plot of Netflix’s crime drama explained
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Netflix is going to drop an unconventional crime drama in which an ex-cop, Mike Valentine, has to travel to travel to his home state of Florida for a case assigned by a Philadelphia mobster that quickly turns out to be more complicated than he anticipated. Mike finds himself in the midst of shattering family secrets, struggling to do the right thing while everything around him comes undone.
Donald Todd created the series, which is part of Aggregate's first-look contract with the streaming platform, and also serves as an executive producer alongside Jason Bateman, Michael Costigan and Miguel Arteta. Arteta sets the tone for the limited series as director of the first and second episodes, with Julian Farino, Kevin Bray and Haifaa Al Mansour taking over after that.

What is the plot of ‘Florida Man’?
Mike Valentine, an ex-cop, is forced to travel to his home state of Florida, despite his desire to avoid it, to carry out an assignment assigned by a Philadelphia mobster to find his runaway girlfriend, who seems to have disappeared there. What was supposed to be a simple case for Mike becomes complex as he descends into the labyrinth of secrets and struggles to do the right thing.
After explaining to his girlfriend that he intended to never go back to his home state, the trailer parks show up to be more dangerous than they appear on the news. Yet there is no way out of this job. When he travels to find out why and how the gangster’s girlfriend was missing, he has to cope with open-carry gun laws, senseless drugged-out inhabitants and katana-wielding men inside gas stations.
The limited series will premiere on Netflix on Thursday, April 13.
