'Money Shot: The Pornhub Story' on Netflix: What are AVN Awards?
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: This year's Awards season is over, and many were excited for the Golden Globes, Critics Choice, BAFTA, and lastly the Academy Awards to air. However, there was one more award show which was quite a rave apparently, and it bills itself to be just as important as the Oscars. Wondering which one? The AVN Awards claims itself to be “the Oscars of porn,” with 100s of categories enlisting under it, some of which are analogous to industry awards offered in other film and video genres and others that are specific to pornographic or erotic film and video.
Regardless, 'Money Shot: The Pornhub Story' is an upcoming Netflix documentary that tells the story of one of the world’s most-visited websites: Pornhub. The documentary chronicles the sex trafficking and censorship scandals it’s faced while becoming a multi-billion dollar company and how it’s changed the adult entertainment industry forever. The documentary probes into the allegations of “non-consensual material and trafficking” on the site, and Pornhub’s crackdown on its own content.

What are AVN Awards?
The AVN Awards are film awards sponsored and presented by the American adult video industry trade magazine AVN to recognize achievement in various aspects of the creation and marketing of American pornographic films. They are often called the "Oscars of porn". Shocking, isn't it? The Award show originated 34 years back in 1984 and the legacy continues. Apparently, the award ceremony occurs in early January during the AVN Adult Entertainment Expo in Las Vegas, Nevada. Nevertheless, since 2008, the ceremony has aired in a form edited for time on Showtime, which is usually broadcast in a 90-minute time slot.
