NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: ‘Today’ host Craig Melvin recently revealed that singer Carrie Underwood will perform again on the NBC show's plaza.

On Wednesday’s episode, Melvin headed out to the ‘Today’ Show Plaza to announce the big news. He was joined by his co-hosts Jacob Soboroff, Sheinelle Jones, and Al Roker.

It is reportedly revealed that Underwood will be joining ‘Today’ on Thursday, September 14 to perform live on the Plaza in New York City.

Meanwhile, Melvin recently shared a glimpse into his life away from anchor duties. On TikTok, he posted a video giving a behind-the-scenes look at his gardening activities.



 

Today hosts announce Carrie Underwood performance in cheeky fashion

By the end of the ‘Today’ episode on Wednesday, Craig Melvin, Al Roker, Sheinelle Jones, and Jacob Soboroff found themselves gathered in the heart of the Plaza.

As they enjoyed the moment, a Carrie Underwood song filled the airwaves, a detail that Jones couldn't help but acknowledge.

Melvin, with a mischievous grin, ensured the audience knew they had intentionally chosen a song by the artist to feature during the show's outro.

With a playful tone, he slyly posed the question: "Why would we be playing one of Carrie's many hits?"

Jones chimed in and asked, “Why?!”

Melvin explained as the crowd roared in excitement, “Well, this morning folks, we have a gargantuan announcement to make about Carrie Underwood. That Grammy-winning star Carrie has rocked our Plaza in the past, and on Thursday, September 14, Carrie Underwood will join us for a special live performance as part of our Citi Concert Series.”

In a recent heartfelt Instagram update, Craig Melvin shared news about an upcoming project close to his heart.

Accompanied by a photo of himself and his wife Lindsay Czarniak, an NFL reporter, he announced their roles as hosts for ‘The Bottoms Up Invitational’ concert and golf event scheduled for September 24-25 in Connecticut.

He said in the caption, “We're excited to be hosting The Bottoms Up Invitational concert and golf event on September 24-25 in Connecticut, benefiting the Colorectal Cancer Alliance.”

The event is dedicated to supporting the Colorectal Cancer Alliance in memory of Melvin’s late brother Lawrence, who tragically succumbed to the disease three years ago.

He revealed an impressive lineup for the upcoming concert, featuring renowned artists like Hootie & the Blowfish, Branford Marsalis, Javier Colon, Chris Barron, Ray Boudreaux, Edwin McCain, and Preston Pohl.
