BTS continues to surprise fans as they dabble in all kinds of fields. Previously, they modeled for the webtoon ‘7Fates: Chakho’ which was a collaboration between HYBE and Naver. They also teamed up with Nordstorm, one of the largest retailer chains in the US to make official merch more accessible to fans. They also designed their own limited-edition merch to celebrate the new year which was sold out in seconds. And now, the global K-pop group has teamed with Garena for their mobile video game.

Free Fire is one of the most widely-played multiplayer mobile games in which a user can battle other players with the survivor winning each level. In 2019, it was the most downloaded mobile game and in 2021, it had over 150 million users daily. And now its maker Garena has teamed up with BTS for their new global campaign where they encourage creative expression and individuality. With that being said, BTS is getting a chance to design their own skins for the game, while we also get BTS-themed segments.

Where can you download Free Fire?

Android users can download the game Garena Free Fire Max from Google Play. Meanwhile, iOS users can download it from the App Store.

BTS’ skins and themed-items

Free Fire has added a special item that users can collect called "BTS Crystals". On collecting enough of them, they can trade them for avatar skins that were personally designed by BTS. Fans found it endearing that they could immediately recognize each member by their design as it showcased their personality perfectly. RM’s skin has a surfing wetsuit while Jin’s is a hot pink bodysuit. Suga’s skin is reminiscent of tech-wear that we see in a lot of K-pop fashion with belts and pockets.

J-hope gave his skin a stylish black and white suit with white long hair. Jimin’s skin went for a medieval warrior look with chains on his bare chest and distressed jeans. V explained that he wanted something that gave a strong aura but also worked to the advantage of the player so he gave his skin a camouflage outfit. Jungkook showed off his artistic skills as he gave his skin a purple flaming athleisure fit.

Users will also get weapons and utility items that were designed by BTS from Jin’s pink wings to RM’s surfboard. Garena has also designed interfaces that are BTS-themed from purple-colored items to BTS’ logo. The player can also get additional items with their BTS skins like a pet or a motorbike.

BTS x Free Fire variety show

Garena also announced that there would be a short variety show where we would get behind-the-scenes of BTS designing their skins and trying out the game’s latest version. The episodes are being released from March 23 on Garena Free Fire’s YouTube channels.
