MCLNTYRE, GEORGIA: On social media, Mama June Shannon has revealed how her face looks without makeup or any filters. She announced in 2021 that she needed to use a walker due to her new lymphedema and lipidemia diagnoses. A new season of 'Mama June' Family Crisis' will air shortly, and June broke down in therapy with her daughters in the new trailer. The Georgia native revealed in February 2023 that she and her family will be returning to screens for the newest season of 'Mama June: Family Crisis,' which was recorded in July 2022. This was after Mama June's daughter Lauryn "Pumpkin" Efird was given custody of her youngest daughter, Alana "Honey Boo Boo" Thompson, and captures their new family dynamic.

The series will follow the family as they have their first chat following Alana's heated court struggle for child support. The series has also hinted that Mama June's wedding to her new husband, Justin Stroud, will be included. Her girls are clearly unhappy and believe their mom is getting sidetracked by getting married. The trailer debuted just one week after Mama June's daughter Anna 'Chickadee' Cardwell was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. The TV personality's eldest daughter was diagnosed with stage 4 adrenal cancer in January and had her first round of chemotherapy the following month.

Mama June reveals she has ‘stage 3 lipedema’

In a moment with her sister, Jo "Doe Doe" Shannon, in a 2021 episode of WeTV's 'Mama June: From Not to Hot,' the reality star revealed her ailment. "I’ve seen the walker thing in some of your video thingies," Doe Doe pointed out to Mama June. "So, is it because of the drugs?"

Mama June replied, "No," and went on to explain why she needed to use a walker. "A month ago, when I went to get my chin done, he said, ‘It looks like you got [lymphedema],'" she said to her sister. "[Lymphedema], it’s where fat kinda makes some nodules up underneath your skin and your lymphatic system doesn’t work right," June explained in her confessional.

June explained to her sister that her lymphedema had caused her limbs to be measured differently. Her left arm is 27 inches long, whereas her right arm is 21 inches long, and her left leg is nearly 13 inches longer than her right. "I am to a point that I’m a stage 3," June said to Doe Doe. "If I don’t get took care of, I will die within six months."

June rushed to Twitter shortly after the episode aired to offer further information on her health. "And yes it’s crazy in [September] last year, I was diagnosed with lymphedema and lipidemia. A lot of women that [are] obese have this. It happens in every 9 women out of 10 so if [you are] having issues, women get checked," she tweeted. "And I will say a lot of women are misdiagnosed with having cellulitis and is [sic] being obese. That’s what I was told for years and meeting Dr. Schwartz in Beverly Hills educated me a lot. So [you] have to find to right [doctor]," she wrote in another tweet.

In the episode, June paid Doe Doe her first visit after finishing treatment and urged her to contact her daughters, Lauryn "Pumpkin" Efird [née Shannon] and Alana "Honey Boo Boo" Thompson. Lauryn and Alana had not returned their mother's phone calls throughout their separation during June's recovery journey. "Now all I need to just like, see the kids," June remarked, emphasizing the importance of reconnecting with her children.

June reignites health concern in new Instagram posts

The 'From Not To Hot' star has already acknowledged gaining a significant amount of weight. June led her followers on a video tour of an Alabama Bucc-ee's, the huge truck stop and convenience store chain known for its wide variety of items, in the clip. Travelers delight in the handmade fudge, beef jerky, and other treats. June determined that her fans deserved to know what she thought of the treats.

Later, the TV actress showed off her haul, sitting in her car with an apple pie, strawberry cheesecake, a brisket sandwich, and some jerky. June then devoured the dish, praising every bite. Fans were disappointed to see her eating so much sweet stuff in the comments section.

Mama June has previously been frank with followers about her weight concerns. In February 2022, the reality star revealed that she had gained 100 pounds since being clean. She claimed a few months later, in May 2022, that she was content with her body weight of 240 pounds, despite gaining weight following her gastric sleeve operation. The 'Mama June: Road to Redemption' actor told The US Sun that she was content with her weight, but that another surgery wasn't completely out of the question.

While the mother-of-four stated that she was content with her current weight, she had not completely ruled out the possibility of having another procedure.
