For Eric Winter's Tim Bradford, things are certainly looking up in the ongoing Season 8 of 'The Rookie'. The ABC police procedural benefits from its previous seasons in establishing a compelling character arc for Bradford. On the other hand, Bradford's on-screen chemistry with Melissa O'Neil's Lucy Chen has almost the entire show's fandom interested. The Valentine's Day episode titled 'Burn 4 Love' aired on Monday, February 9, at 10 p.m. ET. The episode saw Bradford and Chen enter a new phase of their loving relationship, one replete with their fond idiosyncrasies.

Winter was recently approached by ABC7News for an interview, during which he shared exclusive insights into both the show and his character. Speaking about his gratitude for being able to play such a well-defined character, Winter remarked, "It's been incredible, as an actor, to be able to get a role like Tim Bradford; he's been so complicated and just challenging as an individual from day one. To see his growth, it's been one of the best evolutions on the show for sure."

Bradford has indeed come a long way since his days as a training officer on the ABC show's debut season. Winter inadvertently credited showrunner Alexi Hawley and the show's brilliant writers, "We're still peeling back layers every single year, I'm just excited and surprised every year to see what we're going to peel back next." The most recent episode of 'The Rookie' featured both Bradford and Chen buying Valentine's Day gifts for each other. As TV Insider reports, both Bradford and Chen look forward to exchanging their gifts with bated breath.

However, their spirits are threatened to be dampened by certain roadblocks when Chen can't remember where she hid Bradford's gift, which happens to be an autographed baseball. Bradford has similarly ordered a skin care line for Chen, but it has yet to be delivered. In an effort to make up for this, both of them arrange new gifts for each other. While Chen gifts Bradford a set of his favourite science fiction books, he is in the habit of reading them when falling back on tough times. Bradford gifts Chen a pair of earrings. The two soon reconcile their differences after revealing their troubles to each other.

Winter is no stranger to the immense popularity of 'Chenford' and explained, "It's by far the biggest ship all over social media that I've ever been a part of," Winter said. "It's taken on a life of its own worldwide. We have an incredible fandom that just continues to build this show every season." 'The Rookie' season eight airs new episodes every Monday at 10 p.m. ET on ABC and streams the next day on Hulu.
