MIAMI, FLORIDA: Maya Vander will always have regrets about leaving 'Selling Sunset' but her family and Maya Vander Group are her priority at the moment.

Maya Vander has always been a fan-favorite name on Netflix's hit show 'Selling Sunset' but she exited the show after the the fifth season that aired in 2022.

The spotlight shone brightly on Maya until season 3 of 'Selling Sunset' after which she moved to Miami with her husband making her presence dwindle. Although, she managed her commute quite effortlessly between Miami and LA, her announcement about quitting the show came in as a shock.

Why did Maya Vander leave 'Selling Sunset'?

In June 2022, she dropped the bombshell on Instagram. 'So…I’m very proud of my Selling Sunset family for getting two more seasons and hopefully Emmy nomination,' she wrote. 'I decided not to go on with the show and it was not an easy decision!'

The main reason for her quitting the show was to be closer to her family after suffering immense personal losses, including a stillbirth at 38 weeks and a miscarriage.

'I just want to be home with my husband and beautiful kids who I absolutely adore. Focusing on growing my Maya Vander Group and joining Compass is the right decision for me to move forward,' she added.

Maya and her husband Dave Miller, along with their kids Aiden and Elle, made Miami their home base, and the commute to LA with the kids just became a little too much for her then.

Maya Vander still regrets quitting 'Selling Sunset'

Leaving the glitz and drama of Selling Sunset wasn’t an easy choice for Maya. In a candid chat with Us Weekly, she confessed, 'I think I’m always going to have regrets about leaving 'Selling Sunset'.

Yet, her priorities were clear. 'My priorities are my family and taking care of myself. I had a very stressful year, obviously, with my pregnancy loss, so I think it was the right decision', she mentioned.

The cross-country flights and balancing life in Miami while being part of a hit show in LA were tough. "I did long-distance with my husband. I was pregnant and then pregnant again. And at some point, I’ve been selling real estate by the way in Miami the whole time, so my business is really good here. I’m really trying to do even more high-end stuff", she shared.

Even though Maya will have slight regrets about biding adieu to 'Selling Sunset', she is doing pretty well with Maya Vander Group and of course with her family.

Maya Vander welcomes rainbow baby after pregnancy loss

In the midst of all the heartbreak, Maya received a beautiful blessing. Just a week before 'Selling Sunset’s' Season 6 premiere, Maya announced the arrival of her third child.

'Welcome to the world Emma Reign! My rainbow baby', she joyfully posted on Instagram.

After keeping her pregnancy under wraps for nine long months, she couldn’t contain her happiness. 'Words cannot express my sense of relief and happiness!'

This news was a silver lining after her devastating stillbirth in December 2021 and a subsequent miscarriage. 'Yesterday was the hardest day of my life. I had a stillbirth at 38 weeks. I always heard of it but never imagined I’d be part of the statistics,' she had shared on Instagram back then, opening up about her grief.
