How is 'Top Chef' Season 21 different from previous Seasons?

In a significant shift for Season 21 of Top Chef, Quickfire Challenges will take on a whole new level of importance. Contestants will now compete for cash prizes in every Quickfire Challenge, with immunity no longer on the table. This change raises the stakes and adds a new dynamic to the competition.Additionally, as the season progresses, judges Tom Colicchio and Gail Simmons will join Kristen to provide their expertise during Quickfire Challenges. This adds further pressure on the contestants to perform at their best.

Perhaps the most notable change is that Quickfire Challenge performance will now be factored into the elimination discussion at Judges' Table. This marks the first time in 'Top Chef' history that the Quickfire will directly influence who gets sent home. Furthermore, in Season 21, the winner of the elimination challenge will earn immunity for the following episode, ensuring their safety from elimination. This new rule adds an extra incentive for contestants to excel in the main challenge.
