The ultimate survival thriller, 'Yellowjackets' is about a high school girl (played by Melanie Lynskey), whose school soccer team meets an immense tragedy in the form of a plane crash and the survivors are left stranded in the middle of the Canadian greens. They have no choice but to learn to survive in the hostile conditions. 

The first season had 10 episodes and it was a hit, which pushed makers to commence writing the script for Season 2 even before Season 1 finale aired. Showtime's entertainment president, Gary Levine, loved receiving the accolades that come with such a successful project. "Yellowjackets has been an unadulterated sensation for Showtime," Gary reportedly said.  Here's hoping that Season 2 will be equally amazing as its predecessor. Just like its predecessor, Season 2 will be available exclusively on Showtime, unlike Season 1, which is available on Paramount+, Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV+ and Play Movies.

What is the plot of 'Yellowjackets' Season 2?

The official synopsis reads, "The Yellowjackets barely made it through summer, but now as winter begins to bite, we’ll see if hunger and desperation turn into full-on psychosis. Meanwhile, 25 years later, each survivor must determine if the darkness is coming for them or from them. Season 2 premieres March 24."

What is the cast of 'Yellowjackets' Season 2?

'Yellowjackets' boasts an incredible lineup of actors. Shining amongst them is Melanie Lynskey, who received an Emmy nomination in the Lead Actress category for playing Shauna. Similarly, Christina Ricci was also nominated for a Best Supporting Actress Emmy for playing Misty. Fans will be glad to know that these two actresses will return for Season 2. Natalie (Juliette Lewis) and Taissa (Tawny Cypress) will also be on Season 2. We will also see Jasmin Savoy Brown, Sophie Thatcher, Sophie Nélisse, Ella Purnell and Kevin Alves. Elijah Wood will be playing Walter in the upcoming season. Other actors returning are Simone Kessell as Adult Lottie and Lauren Ambrose as Adult Van, along with Nuha Jes Izman and Jason Ritter.

What is the buzz around 'Yellowjackets' Season 2?

After the rip-roaring success of 'Yellowjackets' Season 1, creators started palnning for Season 2 early on. There was speculation in December 2022 about Season 3 too. If Season 2 turns out to be a nail bitter, then a third season may be in the works too.
