‘Welcome to Bangkok Bambam’: GOT7's rapper back to Thailand for Christmas after 2 years

Bambam is the final international member from GOT7’s AmeriThaiKong line to go back home and spend much-needed vacation time with his relatives

GOT7 members have been active in the industry for a while but it is a well-known fact that like any other K-pop group, International idols have it very difficult in the industry as their legal contracts do not allow them to visit family as frequently as a Korean idol could visit their family. GOT7 has three international members with all three rappers of the group being foreign nationals. Mark, the oldest rapper of the three is from LA, California in the States, and Jackson Wang from China glorifies his Hong Kong, Chinese heritage time and time again. Bambam on the other hand is from Thailand and that is how the three rappers from the ‘AmeriThaiKong’ line of GOT7.

The year 2021 started with Mark finally being able to go back home after the septet chose to drop JYP as their management label. Mark left for LA on January 31, 2021. Jackson on the other hand had been traveling to and fro China due to his solo Chinese activities with his self-owned label - Team Wang. Jackson last left for China on March 6, 2021, and has been active there since. Finally, Thailand’s prince, Bambam ends the year by becoming the last member of GOT7’s international line to go back to Thailand, his home country after two whole years.

Bambam departs for Thailand

On December 21, Bambam was captured at the Incheon International Airport as he was gearing up to depart for Bangkok, Thailand. Bambam chose to dress casually for the event and greeted the paparazzi with cute poses as well as finger hearts. This is Bambams first unofficial trip to Thailand where the rapper will finally be able to spend some quality time with his family after dedicating two whole years to his activities with GOT7 as well as his solo career.

GOT7 members left JYP back in January of 2021 but before that, all seven members of the group together were part of their last album under the label, ‘Breath of Love: Last Piece’. After the release of that album, all seven members of the group decided to focus on their solo careers with different labels. Bambam was last seen attending the 2021 Asia Artist Awards (AAA) where he won not one but two solo titles. BamBam won the AAA for Best Artist (Singer) as well as the title for Asia Celebrity.

Bambam’s upcoming projects

As Bambam departs for Thailand, the rapper has more in store for fans. Bambam announced his collaboration with Selugi of Red Velvet. Bambam and Selugi will release an upcoming pre-single, ‘Who Are You’ on December 28 at 6 pm KST (4 am ET). Over the last few months, Bambam has been teasing his solo comeback which fans are excited about.

Bambam was also in the news for an upcoming project with American singer Pink Sweat$ after the latter posted a screenshot of the duo’s FaceTime call. Not just that, the members of GOT7 also notoriously hinted at a group comeback that Ahgases (GOT7 fans) are eagerly waiting for.

Thailand welcomes Double B

Fans are extremely happy about the fact that Bambam is finally going to be able to enjoy a vacation with his family members after spending two whole years focussed on work. One fan said, "After almost two years… our bambam is finally going home. im just really happy for him. we all know how much he misses his family very much. have a wonderful holidays with your family." One fan noted, "BAMBAM’s FINALLY GOING BACK TO THAILAND TODAY AND GETS TO CELEBRATE THE HOLIDAYS WITH HIS FAMILY AND FINALLY MEET HIS NEPHEW GENT." One fan thanked his new label saying, "Bambam finally going in thailand with his family to celebrate the holidays after how many years 🥺 abyss thank u for giving bambam everything he needed aaaaaaaa." One fan said, "Happy for Bambam to finally get to go home after two years. He can finally meet his family after a long time."
