'Weakest Link': Release date, plot, host, trailer and all you need to know about NBC's popular game show
NBC is bringing back the globally renowned game show phenomenon 'Weakest Link' this September. 13 episodes of the show had been greenlit at the time of its announcement, in July, and the show is ready to be on the air to deliver will deliver the fast-paced and quick-witted pillars of the original British format created by the BBC with a few modern twists. Here's all you should know about it.
Release Date
'Weakest Link' will premiere on Tuesday, September 29, 2020, on NBC between 8-9 pm ET. The show will remain in this time slot for three weeks until it moves to Mondays beginning Oct. 19 where it will air at 10 pm ET following 'The Voice,' according to a press release by NBC.
Plot
The game show sees contestants answer general knowledge questions to bank prize money across multiple rounds. At the end of each round, the contestants vote out who they perceive to be the 'Weakest Link' remaining.
Each episode sees a participation by eight contestants that enter the 'Weakest Link' studio as complete strangers. However, they all are required to depend on each other and work in tandem to bank the maximum amount of prize money available in each round. The contestants take turns to answer general knowledge questions to build chains of correct answers. Consecutive correct answers greatly increase the value of the chain, while incorrect answers break the chain and force the contestants to start over on the lowest rung with the smallest amount money. At the end of each round, contestants vote to eliminate the fellow contestant they consider to be the "Weakest Link" in the chain. The contestant who receives the highest number of votes leaves the game as the host declares the iconic phrase, "You are the Weakest Link. Goodbye."

Her other acting credits include 'Two and a Half Men' that also earned her a Primetime Emmy nomination, 'The L Word, 'Criminal Minds,' 'The Good Fight,' 'The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel,' for which she won a Primetime Emmy. She also hosted 'Hollywood Game Night,' on NBC that earned her two Primetime Emmy wins.
