Hermione Corfield's Freddy Lane might think she is smart, but the detectives investigating the double murder she is so suspiciously connected with are clearly smarter. Since the time our femme fatale on 'We Hunt Together' met Baba (Dipo Ola) and manipulated him into killing the two men for her, DI Jackson Mendy (Babou Ceesay) and DS Lola Franks (Eve Myles) have been able to not just discover her personal relations with the men, but also the money she owed them. Jackson and Lola dug into Freddy's past and learned of her time in juvie for murder, while Jackson was also able to nail the coffin on a possible accomplice, thereby explaining how Freddy managed to kill two men built much bigger than her. But even with Freddy's malicious intent running wild, looks like it's either Baba or Lola who will be bearing the brunt of Jackson's professional instincts.

The official synopsis of Episode 4 states: "It looks like Baba and Freddy got away with murder, but they are celebrating with a trip to Freddy's old school. Lola and Jackson are wandering around in search of a stick." Vague and ambiguous as it might seem, things get explained further via the trailer that sees Freddy tell Baba she hasn't visited her home in about five years or so. A montage of a stone building filled with students in school uniforms passes by as a sinister-looking man appears on the screen, seemingly shushing somebody up.

It's possible that this is the same man Freddy had murdered for which she did time in juvenile detention. Or this could be someone else she is planning on exacting revenge from and thereby asks Baba to accompany her because the lovesick puppy will most likely kill anybody Freddy asks him to, even though flashbacks of his traumatic past as a child soldier keep haunting him. But it's not Baba's conscience pricking him at the back of his head that we are, or he should be worried about. The teaser shows at one point Jackson shows up at the pub where Baba works and flashes him his badge as a cop, probably for interrogation purposes. Has he figured out Baba is the accomplice or is he merely questioning him as the washroom-butler at the pub where Simon and Matt -- the two dead men -- had a brawl?

The teaser then proceeds to show another frustrating meeting between Jackson and Lola's boss who asks them, sternly, to stay off the case. A spiraling Lola just gives the middle finger to her senior-slash-mum but unravels in front of Jackson as images of another random woman flash on the screen. Could this be the Jessica that Lola was writing incomplete birthday messages to? It's not clear yet but it's obvious Jackson knows about Lola's heroin addiction. Smug and defiant when confronted, Lola almost mocks Jackson for being worried and conflicted. But one look at Jackson's face hints our and Lola's worst nightmare: he might snitch on his new partner and report she is abusing substance while on the job. And repercussions of that can't be good for her at all.

'We Hunt Together' airs on Sundays at 10 pm only on Showtime.
