ATLANTA, GEORGIA: Sanya Richards-Ross's departure from 'The Real Housewives Of Atlanta' after two seasons was confirmed by Andy Cohen on his SiriusXM show that aired on March 14.
Sanya is a retired Jamaican-American track and field athlete known for her achievements in the 400-meter sprint. She competed internationally for the United States and earned several prestigious titles, including the 2012 Olympic champion, 2009 world champion, 2008 Olympic bronze medalist, and 2005 world silver medalist. After experiencing an injury during the 2016 U.S. Olympic trials, Richards-Ross decided to retire from professional athletics. She then transitioned to a career in broadcasting and joined the NBC team as a track and field analyst.
In 2017, she published her memoir titled "Chasing Grace: What the Quarter Mile Has Taught Me about God and Life," sharing insights from her athletic journey. In October 2021, it was announced that Richards-Ross would be part of the cast for the fourteenth season of the reality television series 'The Real Housewives of Atlanta' on Bravo.

Shortly after, she confirmed the birth of her baby boy, who joins his older brother Aaron Jermaine Ross II, also known as Deuce, who is 6 years old.

Sanya's departure coincides with a cast shakeup for Season 16, which also includes the exits of Kandi Burruss and Marlo Hampton from the franchise.
Kandi Burruss revealed her departure after 15 seasons, mentioning that the extended break between seasons allowed her time to reassess her future on the show. "I’ve been contemplating back and forth, and I think with the long break they gave us, I had the opportunity to explore other things, and I have some major announcements to make soon, so yeah," she shared with ET on the red carpet. "I mean, I adore the ladies, they're my friends, and I'll still hang out with them. Bravo is like family, and I love them too, but you know."
Marlo Hampton, who has been part of the Atlanta-based show since Season 4 and became an official housewife the same year Sanya Richards-Ross joined the franchise, has also confirmed her departure ahead of Season 16. In a statement to People, Hampton explained, “My contract with Real Housewives of Atlanta ended when season 15 wrapped. This break from RHOA is a fresh start, allowing me the space to participate in new creative entertainment projects focused on my future, and not reliving my past.”
