'The Walking Dead' Season 11: Live stream, release date, cast, trailer and all about AMC thriller's final installment
Spoilers for 'The Walking Dead' Season 10
On Sunday night, AMC announced that the final season of one of the network's most popular zombie thriller shows 'The Walking Dead' will premiere its final season soon. This came as a surprise to most fans considering the season premieres usually in October, but because of the pandemic, the production schedule had been scattered. This is why fans are now able to enjoy 6 bonus episodes from Season 10, with Episode 17 'Home Sweet Home' debuting on Sunday as well. Last September, the network announced that #TWD will end in 2022, with a 24 episode season, and according to The Business Insiders' 'detective work', there might be an assumed released date.
Release date
According to the publication, 'Fear The Walking Dead' will return on April 11, 2021, with 8 new episodes, and should it run for eight weeks, it would lead straight into the premiere of Season 11 of 'The Walking Dead', which means the premiere date could be as early as June 6, 2021.
Plot
While there is no official synopsis for the final season, the teaser released by the network sees a 'New World Order' which features what Comicbook called the 'interview setup' of a character from the comic books named Lance Hornsby. He introduces the survivors of the zombie applause to the Commonwealth, a faction many comic fans are aware of. The Commonwealth was also already briefly introduced in the Season 10 Episode 16 "finale" titled 'A Certain Doom', which saw soldiers in white armor, aka the Commonwealth Armor. It has also already been reported that the Commonwealth Army will be part of one of the bonus episodes, Season 10 Episode 20, titled 'Splinter'.
The summary of the episode reads, "Eugene (Josh McDermitt), Ezekiel (Khary Payton), Yumiko (Eleanor Matsuura) and Princess (Paola Lázaro) are captured and separated. Princess struggles with memories of her traumatic past and tries to escape one way or another with the help of Ezekiel."
Speaking about Season 11, showrunner Angela Kang said during The Walking Dead Extended Season 10 Preview Special, "The one episode that's coming up, that's just the tip of the iceberg. There's a whole big story to be played. There's more characters within that group to meet, but we will start to get into them a bit, get a sense of their vibe, what they're about, through our characters' perspective. But there's so much more cool story to come in Season 11."

Comicbook reported that filming for the final season had started on February 8 of this year with writer-producer Jim Barnes telling the 'Talk Dead To Me' podcast, "We're shooting [Season 11 episodes] one and two right now, it's a two-part episode, a two-part premiere. What can I say? It's going back to [being] scary, it's scary. We're making a concerted effort to put that back into, especially these first two or three, and actually all throughout [the season]. We're exploring things and doing things that I haven't seen done on the show before, which is really exciting. Just different set pieces and locations, and the fact that we're pulling it off during the pandemic is a testament to the crew in Georgia, it's incredible. It's big, I think I can say that."
Cast
Since the bonus episodes of Season 10 just premiered, with 5 more episodes to go, we have no idea who is about to die or who is going to make it to the final season. Should the OG cast remain, then it will see the gang reprise their roles with Norman Reedus as Darryl, Melissa McBride as Carol, Kharys Payton as Ezekiel, Jeffrey Dean Morgan as Negan, Christain Serratos as Rosita, Cailey Fleming as Judith Grimes and Seth Gilliam as Father Gabriel. Of course, since Lauren Cohan's Maggie is back for Season - and we're praying Pope and The Reapers don't kill her - we would assume she too, would be in the final installment. As for who will play Lance Hornsby, we have no idea, but that looks to be a new character from the comic books that will be brought to the series.
Other members of the case (not official as of yet) would most likely include Nadia Hilker as Magna, Cassady McClincy as Lydia, Lauren Ridloff as Connie, Eleanor Matsuur as Yumiko, Okea Eme-Akwari as Elijah, Angel Theory as Kelly, and a few others. The specifics of who'll be part of season 11, depends on who will make to the end of the extended episodes in season 10. Stay tuned for updates, should there be any news on new characters or actors.
