#VernonWakeUp: Fans implore Seventeen star not to miss Charli XCX's collab request AGAIN

Back in May of 2021, Vernon was too late as he missed the opportunity to collab with Charli XCX

It is not every day that your favorite American pop singer uses Twitter to plan a collab with you and it definitely is Vernon’s lucky day. While Vernon may have publicly confessed his love for Charli XCX’s songs, he is not really known for his social media presence. Vernon of Seventeen last professed his love for American pop music as he mentioned that one singer he sings in the shower to is Charli XCX.

With Vernon’s immense popularity in South Korea as well as the rest of the world, all thanks to the global rise of K-pop, Charli XCX took notice of the Seventeen star’s comment and reached out to him via Twitter in May, 2021. As fate would have it, Vernon took one whole month to notice Charli’s tweet and fans complained that now it was too late to hope for a Charli XCX and Vernon collab.

Charli XCX reaches out to Vernon of Seventeen

Looks like Charli XCX is no quitter as she is making sure a Seventeen collab happens very soon. In February, Charli XCX took to her Twitter to ask her fans as well as Carats (Fans of Seventeen) what the best way would be to reach out to Vernon. In her tweet she said, “How do I get in touch with Vernon??”

This caused fans of Seventeen to rush to her tweet and hit her up with Seventeen’s official Twitter account so that Vernon does not miss Charli’s post, again. Charli then retweeted her original tweet with an address to Seventeen’s official Twitter account saying, “hi @pledis_17 wanna collab?”.

Just as the series of tweets went viral on Twitter, fans are now hoping to “wake Vernon up” so that he does not miss this legendary opportunity. Carats, who are now done with Vernon’s lack of Twitter presence, are using memes to “wake him” up from his supposed nap as Charli waits on a collab. Fans of Seventeen know how much Vernon loves Charli’s music as he is always seen sharing her music on his Instagram stories and talking about the singer in interviews.

‘He took a month to reply’

With the possibility of a collaboration between Vernon and his favorite singer, fans are leaving no stone unturned as they trend #VernonWakeUp on Twitter, hoping the rapper from Seventeen takes notice and brews a new collab for fans. One fan said, “VERNON WAKE UP!!!! CHARLI WANTS TO COLLAB.” Another fan said, “I'M NOT EVEN A CARAT BUT AYO @pledis_17 VERNON HABIBI WAKE UP WE NEED YOU HERE. #VernonWakeUp.”
