'Vanderpump Rules' fans agree as Tom Sandoval gets called 'parasite' in SNL ‘Weekend Update’ segment
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Tom Sandoval found himself in 'Saturday Night Live' crosshairs once again this season. Fans can't help but relate the star's latest behaviors to what prompted him to be referred to as a "parasite" in the most recent episode.
On Saturday, May 11, "Weekend Update" hosts Colin Jost and Michael Che explored presidential contender Robert Kennedy Jr's claim to have a parasitic brain worm. Sarah Sherman, an 'SNL' cast member, portrayed the apparent worm in the joke, which her mother referred to earlier in the program during the Mother's Day cold open.
"But look, RFK's body was a worm's paradise," Sarah, dressed in a worm costume, said. "Not a single drop of vaccine in sight! My whole parasite posse hung out in there. Shout-out to hookworm, bot fly, that fish that swims up your P-stream, and my man, Tom Sandoval."
As Sarah rattled off the names of each worm, photographs popped up on the screen. When she got to Tom, she spotted a photo of the 'Vanderpump Rules' star casually strolling outside shirtless.
Reacting to Tom's second 'SNL' mention, fans on Instagram quipped, "He was probably happy to be mentioned 😂😂😂😂😂." Another fan said, "A parasite is the best way to describe him tbh.
One fan wrote, "F*****G AMAZING! THANK YOU TO THE SNL WRITERS THAT ARE BRAVO FANS 😂😂😂." Another fan took a jab at him writing, "I bet this helped his ego!!!" One fan argued, "He's gonna love this sh*t lol." Another added, "Hes so psycho he loved it then gona b out crying later for manipulation of the day."
'SNL' called 'Vanderpump Rules' star Tom Sandoval 'pure narcissist'
Saturday's episode, hosted by 'SNL' veteran Maya Rudolph and featuring musical guest Vampire Weekend, was not Tom's first time being mocked on television. He was previously mentioned in a February episode by cast member Marcello Hernandez, who dressed up as a frozen embryo to argue the Alabama State Supreme Court decision.
"I guess I've never talked before because I don't have a mouth, throat, or lungs," Marcello said on "Weekend Update" back then. "Does this look like a life to you, Colin? I’m living at negative 200 degrees in liquid nitrogen, freezing my nonexistent nipples off. I don’t got a brain; I don’t got a heart; I’m like Tom Sandoval."
Marcello's character, on the other hand, stated that he can't watch Tom on 'Vanderpump Rules' since "[he doesn't] even have eyes." "But even without eyes, I can see that Tom’s a pure narcissist,” the 'SNL' comic continued.
"I’m just happy to be out of the freezer, Colin. The freezer’s like prison [with] no names, only numbers. I once saw them put my best friend into solitary confinement … for nine months.”

Tom has been portrayed as a villain on 'VPR' since March 2023, following the revelation of his infidelity to his long-term partner, Ariana Madix, with fellow Bravo star Rachel "Raquel" Levis. This led to the breakup of Tom and Ariana, with Ariana subsequently refusing to speak with the TomTom co-owner.
Tom and Ariana have moved on, along with Victoria Lee Robinson and Daniel Wai, respectively.

Victoria chatted with host Andy Cohen from the 'Watch What Happens Live' crowd, revealing that Tom's appearance on the show for all 11 seasons did not detract from her interest in him. That's because she hasn't watched the show.
Andy said that Tom will be "kinda grill[ed]" regarding his relationship with Victoria during the first portion of the 'Vanderpump Rules' Season 11 reunion, which airs on Tuesday, May 14 at 8/7c on Bravo.
