The Amazon Prime remake of the hit British conspiracy thriller is about to make its debut. The remake has been in the works for years and is finally going to be released worldwide, following the story of a group of comic book fans and idle conspiracy theorists. The group is facing danger like they never have before as they try to outrun assassins who are hell-bent on ensuring that nobody ever reads the titular comic book — 'Utopia'.

Utopia follows Ian (Dan Byrd), Wilson (Desmin Borges), Samantha (Jessica Rothe) and Becky (Ashleigh Lathrop), who are members of an online forum dedicated to an indie comic book known as 'Dystopia.' The group gathers to meet for the first time when they hear rumors of a sequel comic – 'Utopia' — has been made, and they get to be the first to read it. The series is famed for containing hints about a larger government conspiracy — a conspiracy that appears to be real when trained assassins show up to murder anyone who might have read or shared the graphic novel.

The largely defenceless comic book nerds are saved, however, by the appearance of Jessica Hyde (Sasha Lane), whose existence comes as a bit of a surprise. Jessica Hyde is the protagonist of the comic book series that they're being hunted down for. There appears to be a lot more to the comic series than any of them ever guessed, and now they're going to have to work to expose the conspiracy to the world just to stay alive.

As Jessica Hyde searches for her missing father and seeks answers in the pages of 'Utopia,' the minds behind the global conspiracy are doing everything in their power to ensure that the secrets within 'Utopia' never see the light of day.

You can watch the trailer for the new series below, which features the series' protagonists finding out that the biowarfare and disease outbreaks mentioned in the comic book are all real, and that knowing that has put them all in danger — just as the "Sterns flu" is declared a national pandemic.

All episodes of Season 1 of 'Utopia' are on Amazon Prime on September 25.
