Episode 4 of the sci-fi series unravels the transition that Chiwetel Ejiofor's character Faraday takes. We know how episode one gave us all the thrill we needed in terms of how Faraday, who began his journey on a whole new planet, was completely naked and eventually ended up picking up on the language, skills, and money from humans around him.

Faraday, at the very start of the show, is seen in his truest alien form, with a water hose stuck to his mouth until two officers fine him and take him to the police station. There he asks for Justin Falls (Naomie Harris), the other protagonist in the movie, to be sent for him. And the rest of the episode is just Faraday hitching a ride with Justin and the pit stops they make along the way, all the while he explains his purpose to her.

This new second episode takes a step further showing us how Faraday needs to convince Justin Falls into taking him to Alaska. Alaska is where his mission lies. This mission, if successful, will save his planet and hopefully his family too. It is remarkable how the show is directed. It demonstrates how a non-human would adapt to the human world and survive the string of adversity.

The friendship between Justin and Faraday is seen to grow a little more from the previous episode. Justin decides to help Faraday by offering to take him to the bus station when all the while Faraday really just wants her company till Alaska as she is vital to the mission he is on. One of the key takeaways from episode 2 is Justin is still unaware of how important this mission could be, but at the same time, she is entangled with her motherly duties whilst also taking care of her ailing dad.

Episode 2 ends with Faraday curing Justin's father in hopes that this would coax her into joining him on his quest to Alaska!

Giving you a brief on Faraday's character, Faraday is an alien from planet Athena which is at high risk of getting perished without water. This has bought him to Earth to help find a way to save his planet and mysteriously save ours. On this quest, Justin Falls is key to the mission and he needs her help to find the next step to his instructions.
