Plot
According to the official synopses of 'Unpregnant', the series tells "the story of seventeen-year-old Veronica (Haley Lu Richardson), who never thought she’d want to fail a test—that is, until she finds herself staring at a piece of plastic with two solid pink lines. With a promising college-bound future now disappearing before her eyes, Veronica considers a decision she never imagined she’d have to make. This tough and never-taken-lightly decision leads her on a 900+ mile road trip to New Mexico over three days with her ex-best friend Bailey (Barbie Ferreira), where they discover that one of the most important factors in your life is who your friends are."

Haley Lu Richardson as Veronica
The actress plays the role of Veronica, a teenager who finds out she is pregnant because her boyfriend, in desperate attempts to keep her from going to college, pokes holes in the condoms they use. Eager to leave now more than ever, she reaches out to her ex-best friend for help.
Haley is known for her work in 'Shake It Up', and 'Ravenswood'. She earned recognition through her work in 'The Edge of Seventeen' and the psychological horror film 'Split'.
Barbie Ferreira as Bailey
Ferreira's Bailey and Veronica used to be BFFs once upon a time, but not anymore. That is until Veronica reaches out to her for help. And so, together, they embark on a journey that sets out to teach them new lessons. The actress is best known for her performance of Kat Hernandez HBO's 'Euphoria'. She first rose to fame with the 10-episode Vice series 'How to Behave', for which she won a Webby Award for Best Web Personality/ Host.
Creators
The movie from Picturestart and Berlanti Productions is adapted from the young adult HarperCollins novel of the same name written by authors Jenni Hendriks and Ted Caplan. Emmy-winner Rachel Lee Goldenberg (known for 'Between Two Ferns with Zach Galifianakis' and 'The Mindy Project') has directed it. Sarah Aubrey, head of original content, HBO Max, said, "We want to create authentic, relevant films that are told with grace and humor to serve our young adult audience, and this is exactly that."
