So who owns the ugliest house in America?
According to Alison and Retta, the winner of Season 2 of ‘Ugliest House in America’ is the current title holder of the ugliest home in the country. The two crowned the house they titled the “House With No Privacy” in Palm City, Florida as the winner. According to Realtor, the house “doesn’t look too bad on the outside, but on the inside, this octagonal-shaped house has walls that don’t go up to the ceiling, and there are no doors in the bedrooms, making privacy impossible. It’s also crammed to the rafters with beachy accessories.”
But who owns it, you ask? The house with no privacy is owned by Florida residents Jeff and Tammy. The couple has lived in their home for five years with their young daughters, Peyton and Kendall. When they spoke to the ‘Parks and Recreation’ star, they revealed that the house, constructed in 1983, had really attracted them due to its great position and view. On the other hand, because of its octagonal roof, none of the walls meet the ceiling. And, unfortunately for their children, sound travels. The house also features unsightly pecky cypress panels throughout and mismatched flooring in the kitchen. There were also issues with space, lacking closets and a bathroom door.
Luckily for Jeff and Tammy, the duo finally got the privacy they longed for after winning the competition, as Alison gave the disastrous house the renovation it needed. The 'Rock the Block' star stripped away the pecky cypress panels and changed the walls to reach the ceiling, forming an open plan for the living, dining, and kitchen areas. To bring contrast to the white interior, the designer even added green elements to the appliances and constructed a bookcase. She also upgraded the bathrooms and bedrooms, including that of the couple's younger daughter.
