Even if the girl group TWICE does not get the recognition it deserves within their label JYP Entertainment, Onces - their fans - have got their backs. Having been in the industry for so long, TWICE is now a household name as the nine-member group has effectively become one of the biggest girl groups in the history of K-pop. Fans of TWICE initially expressed their disapproval of the label when they failed to acknowledge the merits of the 2015 girl group’s record on Billboard 200 even as JYP praised Stray Kids and Wonder Girls for their achievements on the US chart.

Now proving their international domination, TWICE has become the only K-pop girl group to perform in an offline concert for North American fans. On March 31, JYP Entertainment announced that TWICE will be the first-ever girl group from the K-pop industry to perform an encore concert in North America. Despite being internationally popular, other prominent girl groups like Blackpink are yet to achieve this feat. TWICE has now announced an encore performance of the American leg of their 2022 World tour which had initially been in the news for having “all seats sold out”.

TWICE ‘III’ gets a North American encore concert

JYP Entertainment announced that TWICE is set to hold an encore show at the Banc of California Stadium in Los Angeles, US on May 14 as part of their fourth world tour - III (Three). The concert is said to have 22,000 seats, all thanks to the enthusiastic support from local fans over the years. Back in February 2022, TWICE had extended their US tour by adding two new shows in two cities, owing to their global popularity.

This comes after TWICE, who have already completed all legs of ‘III’ with over 100,000 attendees, held over seven shows in five cities in the USA in February 2022. The label has also reported that TWICE will have a rich setlist for the upcoming encore show including their first English single ‘The Feels’, which was one of their biggest hits and granted the group a Billboard ‘Hot 100’ entry, making them the first group from JYP Entertainment to enter the Billboard main chart.

TWICE world tour ‘III’ hits Japan in April

Ahead of their North American encore concert in May 2022, TWICE is set to perform in Japan for the first time in two years. The group will perform a Japan leg of ‘III’ in Tokyo Dome from April 23 to 25 with three solo shows. K-pop fans are aware that Tokyo Dome is called the ‘sacred place of Japanese performances’ and fans are expecting a wild response for TWICE. This time around, TWICE will be celebrating the fifth anniversary of their official Japanese debut ‘One More Time’ which was released back in 2017.
