In an informal Q&A session with fans on Instagram, Nic not only revealed a couple of deleted scenes from the finale but he also perhaps gave a clue about the fourth season renewal. A fan shared that they thought this season was the best on TV and complimented him on his ability to do such a "layered show in just 8 episodes" and that he looked forward to what's next, Pizzolatto replied thanking him saying, "I hope we don't disappoint"
