True Detective Season 3 episode 7: You have been watching the show all wrong!
'True Detective's penultimate episode finally told us why the Purcell case wasn't solved - and it left us more confused than ever. However, episode 7 made it perfectly clear that season 3 of 'True Detective' isn't really about a complex murder mystery as we thought it to be - it's about the impact that the crime had on the lives of everyone involved.
Sounds a little like Amelia Reardon's book doesn't it? Every death, every suspect and every situation in the season has talked about the extent of trauma that each character had to go through because of the case and Tom Purcell's apparent suicide is proof that this little town in the Ozarks has dealt with much more problem than it could handle.
