ENNIS, ALASKA: The fourth installment of HBO's highly regarded series 'True Detective' which was created by Nic Pizzolatto, titled 'True Detective: Night Country', has won over the viewers with its captivating storyline.
After three episodes, the series has solidified its place as yet another highly regarded entry in the franchise.
In the previous episode, we learn that Oliver Tagaq (Lance Karmer) is visited by Chief Liz Danvers (Jodie Foster) and Trooper Evangeline Navarro (Kali Reis) in an attempt to obtain information regarding the deaths of scientists; however, he declines to discuss it, leaving the duo clueless about their next step.
Julia Navarro is admitted to a voluntary institution
While earlier episodes briefly touched on Julia Navarro's declining mental health, this installment delves deeper into her breakdowns.
At the episode's outset, Danvers discovers Julia amid a breakdown, leading to her assistance and a subsequent visit to the police station. Grateful, Navarro expresses thanks for the support.
Later, Julia takes proactive steps by admitting herself to a facility to maintain control. Navarro assures her sister of a Christmas celebration and frequent meetings.
Despite Julia's reassurances that everything is fine, an unsettling encounter with a ghostly figure beneath her bed, adorned with a cross necklace, unfolds at night.
Evangeline Navarro struggles with Julia Navarro's loss
Following the unsettling discovery of the ghost beneath her bed, Julia calls her sister from a snow-covered Ennis. Amidst the wintry surroundings, Julia, overcome with emotion, tearfully professes her love to Navarro.
Feeling the depth of Julia's pain, Navarro asks her sister to look after herself. Despite this heartfelt plea, Julia takes a drastic turn by choosing to end her own life. She carefully folds her clothes, sets them aside, and walks unclothed into the ocean.
Upon learning of Julia's disappearance, Navarro, consumed by grief, bursts into the facility, causing a scene. Fueled by rage, she confronts and engages in physical altercations with neighborhood troublemakers, sustaining injuries.
Covered in blood, Navarro seeks refuge at Eddie Qavvik's house, where he tends to her wounds. Already aware of her sister's death, Navarro breaks down in tears as Qavvik provides comfort.
Later, Navarro visits the Denvers, disclosing Julia's tragic demise and expressing a belief in a family curse that predicts her own death after her mother and sister.
Despite Denver's reassurance that such a fate won't befall her, Navarro remains resolute in her conviction.
