SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA: 'Troppo' Season 2, streaming on Prime Video, wraps up its run with Episode 8, delivering a satisfying resolution to the murder mystery.

The season opened with the murder of Julian, a local retreat leader, who was burned alive and thrown off a cliff by an unknown assassin.

When the police suspected Julian's son Raph (Ethan Lwin) of the murder, his girlfriend hired Ted Conkaffey (Thomas Jane) and Amanda Pharrell (Nicole Chamoun) to prove his innocence.

As the series progressed, Ted's past caught up with him. Ted, an ex-cop, was accused of raping a 13-year-old girl but he was never convicted due to a lack of concrete evidence.

Despite the charges being dropped against him, Ted continued to face harassment from the police, who frequently raided his house in search of supposed 'new evidence.'

The season concludes with Ted and Amanda solving Julian's murder case. It also gave a twist to Ted's life as the real perpetrator in the rape case gets caught.

In the final stages of the investigation, Amanda and Ted find themselves caught in the middle of Twist's turf war with the duboisia kingpin.

They join forces with Twist to save Raph's life. However, Twist (Simon Lyndon) gets shot and abducted by the gang.

Ted and Amanda ultimately solve Julian's case when they realize that the broken glass pieces found at the crime scene came from Ronnie's vehicle with broken headlights.

They visit Ronnie, who, overwhelmed with guilt, decides to burn down her entire illegal plantation.

Ronnie (Ursula Yovich) turns herself in and confesses to her crimes. Recalling the night of Julian's murder, Ronnie explains that she accidentally hit Julian when he suddenly emerged from the middle of the woods.

However, when Julian expressed his anger and threatened to burn down her plantation, she ran over him. Julian was severely injured but still alive at that moment.

However, Ronnie's cousin arrived at the scene and asked her to leave, assuring her that he would handle the situation.

It was her cousin who then burned Julian alive and pushed him down the cliff. Ronnie is charged for her crimes, leaving Tayla and Raph heartbroken.

Forensic reports suggest that Colin Finch (Brett Tucker) killed Brooke (Sara West), and the police find her lost earring in his motel room.

When Colin tries to escape, Sergeant Carrie Hench (Ling Cooper Tang) stuns him into unconsciousness. He is taken to the hospital and handcuffed, but he escapes with a police officer's pistol.

Colin then goes to Ted's house and threatens his family. Kelly grabs a knife and stabs him, but he shoots her in the shoulder. Amanda arrives just in time to rescue the family.

Cornered at the back of the house, Colin, who also raped Claire and pinned it on Ted, refuses to surrender despite Ted and Amanda's attempts to convince him. Instead, he continues to provoke Ted until Ted eventually pulls the trigger.

As Colin tries to retaliate, Amanda pushes him into the river. With his disturbed state of mind, Colin does not attempt to escape and resigns himself to his fate. He is ultimately eaten by crocodiles.

Amanda Pharrell is elated to solve the second case of her career as a private detective. Detective Pip Sweeney (Zindzi Okenyo) pays her a visit at the tattoo shop where they both share a kiss.

Ted's name is finally cleared from the rape case and he returns to Sydney with Lilly and Kelly (Radha Mitchell). However, after living there for a month, he realizes that he doesn't fit there anymore and eventually returns to Crimson Lake.

The finale, however, leaves Twist's fate unresolved after he is kidnapped by the drug kingpin. This uncertainty sets the stage for another gripping season.

'Troppo' Season 2 is available to stream on Prime Video.
