Two years after the premiere of 'Troppo' on ABC TV, the Australian crime series is returning with another thrilling season.
The series features Thomas Jane as Ted Conkaffey and Nicole Chamoun as Amanda Pharrell, who come together as private detectives to solve complicated crimes in the fictional rural town of Crimson Lake, in the tropical North of Australia.
What happened in 'Troppo' Season 1?
Premiered on February 27, 2022, 'Troppo' Season 1 begins with Amanda Pharrell struggling to rebuild her life after serving time for killing someone as a teenager. Her tattoo shop is floundering, and her work as a private detective is confined to finding people's missing pets.
So when Amanda is approached by a woman named Yoon Sun (Sun Park) to locate her missing husband Jong Min (Sonny Le), she grabs the chance of solving the first big case as private detective.
Since she needs help with the new case, she hires Ted Conkaffey, a disgraced ex-cop who was accused of raping a 13-year-old but was never convicted.
Together, they solve the case of the missing wealthy Korean man while dealing with their own past traumas.
What is the plot of 'Troppo' Season 2?
'Troppo' Season 2 takes the story six months forward as Ted and Amanda reunite once again to solve a bizarre murder mystery.
Julian Naughton, a local retreat leader, is found dead in the woods alongside an unrelated woman. Ted and Amanda are hired by the girlfriend of dead man's son to discover the truth.
The season also sheds light on Ted and Amanda's personal journeys of dealing with the horrors of their past.
The official synopsis for 'Troppo' Season 2 reads, "Six months after Ted and Amanda solved their first murder case, the duo is now investigating a bizarre local murder and an exotic drug ring. While Amanda tangles with an old enemy and finds a new love interest, Ted’s past stalks him and his family to Crimson Lake - with deadly consequences."
