'Shot himself in the foot': Tory Lanez trolled for his regret over not testifying against Megan Thee Stallion
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Tory Lanez was found guilty on December 23, 2022, by a Los Angeles jury for shooting Megan Thee Stallion in the feet during a 2020 argument in Hollywood Hills. The latter has also claimed that she has fragments of the bullets inside her feet. The sentencing was rescheduled from January 27 to February 28 after a request to postpone the same. Now, new sources are claiming that Lanez is reportedly regretting not taking the stand and that he thinks he was misled by his trial lawyer into not testifying in his own defense.
The 30-year-old Canadian rapper reportedly wanted to take the witness stand to plead his case directly to jurors. However, a source close to the case told Rolling Stone that he was persuaded by his trial lawyer George Mgdesyan to do otherwise. Lanez, whose real name is Daystar Peterson, now thinks he was duped. The 'Say It' singer was convicted of all three charges after the two-week long trial which also included Stallion's dramatic testimony. Lanez told Judge David Herriford that he decided not to justify.

The shocking move came after the prosecution stated they would bring loads of evidence if he took the stand, which would also include the alleged assault of fellow musician August Alsina in September. Moreover, the prosecution also stated they had a music video in which Lanez plays a butcher carving up a horse leg, which was an alleged reference to Stallion.
Where is Tory Lanez now?
Lanez has been charged with one count of felony assault with a semiautomatic firearm, carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle, and discharging a firearm in a grossly negligent manner to cause bodily injury. The rapper faces a maximum potential sentence of 22 years and eight months in state prison. In the wake of this revelation, he has changed his attorney and is now working closely with a well-known defense lawyer Jose Baez. He has retained his two other counsels David E Kenner and Matthew Barhoma. Lanez is now waiting for the verdict which is scheduled for February 28.
