Tom Cruise's 'MI - Dead Reckoning Part One' made people 'lose their minds' at its first screening
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: At an early test screening of 'Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One', people lost their minds, according to Paramount CEO Bob Bakish. Tom Cruise is returning as IMF agent Ethan Hunt in the first of two upcoming installments of the legendary American espionage movie series, which will hit theaters this July.
Together with Cruise, other series regulars include Simon Pegg as Benji Dunn, Ving Rhames as Luther Stickwell, and Rebecca Ferguson as Ilsa Faust will also return. The upcoming movie introduces Hayley Atwell as the mysterious Grace and Esai Morales, who starred in 'La Bamba', as the villain.

"The movie is insane", said CEO Bob Bakish
While speaking at the Morgan Stanley Technology, Media, and Telecom Conference, “I haven’t seen all of ‘MI:7,’ but I’ve seen a bunch of it,” Bakish said. “We actually just did the first test screening for an audience last week, and the audience lost their mind. And it’s still too long, they’ve got to cut it. But the movie is insane. It’s like a complete thrill ride. And Tom, he’s very good.”
Will the upcoming installment set a mark for the MI franchise?
In spite of its complex but intriguing plot, the first Mission: Impossible movie captivated audiences with its dramatic set pieces when it was released in 1996. By outdoing its predecessor's action sequences and moving the story to new locations, Cruise advances the franchise with each successive sequel. With 'Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning', the movie franchise creates its first back-to-back two-part plot.
'Mission: Impossible 7' is pushing the franchise to new heights, as indicated by early previews and publicized set images. In the upcoming movie, Cruise will be seen riding a horse, riding a train, participating in a wild vehicle pursuit while being held by Atwell, and free-falling from a cliff. So far, reviews of 'Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One' have been positive, and this is encouraging because the series' plot, death-defying missions, and stunts continue to set new standards.
Tom Cruise will be returning to the big screen on July 14, 2023.
