NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Arkansas Senator Tom Cotton has urged the Department of Homeland Security to deport foreign nationals, including those on student visas, who have expressed support for terrorist attacks conducted by Hamas in Israel on Monday, October 16, 2023.

In a letter addressed to DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, Cotton called for immediate action to remove these foreign nationals, stating that they have "no place" in the United States.

Following this event, Fox News anchor Sean Hannity took to X (formerly Twitter) to report about Cotton's remarks on the issue.

However, Hannity’s tweet did not receive a positive response from the internet as many slammed the GOP lawmaker over his comments.

Sean Hannity reports on Tom Cotton calling on Foreign Nationals

Fox News anchor Sean Hannity took to X and wrote, “COTTON: “Federal law is clear that any alien who ‘endorses or espouses terrorist activity or persuades others to endorse or espouse terrorist activity or support a terrorist organization’ is inadmissible and must be deported."

Hannity’s tweet featured an article from his official website, which was titled “GET OUT! Cotton Says DHS Should Deport Foreign Nationals Supporting Hamas, 'No Place in U.S.'”

In the article, it was reported that Cotton wrote a letter to Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas where he stated, “I write to urge you to immediately deport any foreign national—including and especially any alien on a student visa—that has expressed support for Hamas and its murderous attacks on Israel. These fifth-columnists have no place in the United States.”

Additionally, Fox News reported that the letter came after at least several dozen pro-Palestinian student groups at various colleges and universities across the country released statements and organized demonstrations supporting Hamas's attack against Israel.

He continued in his letter, “Swiftly removing and permanently barring from future reentry any foreign student who signed onto or shared approvingly the anti-Semitic letter from the Harvard Palestine Solidarity Committee on October 7 would be a good place to start.”

“The appalling explosion of anti-Semitism in the United States over the past few weeks should disturb anyone who shares American values. While American citizens may have a First Amendment right to speak disgusting vitriol if they so choose, no foreign national has a right to advocate for terrorism in the United States,” Cotton wrote in his letter.

Internet slams Tom Cotton for his calls to deport foreign nationals

After Sean Hannity took to X to report on Tom Cotton’s calls to remove individuals in the US who verbally backed Hamas, the internet went furious and brutally slammed him.

One person wrote, “Wow... then Cotton needs to be deported immediately,” while another added, “Is this fluff from Tom or does he really support this? Then he should get to work making this a reality…we will see Tom, we will see…”

A person simply called out Cotton and wrote, “Just how they hell does that happen? You and Cotton are the biggest idiots on the planet.”

One more added, “Put him in a mental institution where this nut belongs,” while another took a jab at Cotton saying, “Then do it or STFU..”
