NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: ‘Today’ host Carson Daly has been missing from the NBC show for quite a few days now and his absence has been replaced by Dylan Dreyer for his 'PopStart' segment.

On Friday, August 18 broadcast, Daly was again nowhere to be found and there is no explanation given yet about his absence or when he will be back on the show.

The TV personality has been missing from the ‘Today’ show for the entire week. While Sheinelle Jones filled in for him till Thursday, Jones also went AWOL on Friday as Dreyer stepped in to take his seat.

Daly’s absence was noticeable during his regular 'PopStart' segment on Monday which he usually covers. However, instead of Daly, it was Jones who took over his seat and covered the segment.

Who filled in for Carson Daly amid his continued absence?

Carson Daly is typically the host for the 'PopStart' segment during the weekdays, where viral pop culture moments from the past few days are reviewed.

However, in his absence, other hosts step in. Normally, Sheinelle Jones or Jacob Soboroff take over, but on this particular day, it was Dylan Dreyer who led the PopStart segment.

Jones was also absent on Friday, and Soboroff usually fills in for other hosts when needed.

Jones filled in for Daly for the entire week except on Friday, although it remains unclear where Daly is or when he will return to the morning show.

Carson Daly’s proud moment as son Jackson Daly interviews rapper LL Cool J

Last week before Carson Daly went missing, he proudly featured his 14-year-old son, Jackson, on the morning show.

Jackson took the lead as he interviewed LL Cool J. Daly presented the 'PopStart' interview segment, where the Grammy-winning rapper was the featured guest.

He mentioned LL's recent 'FORCE' live tour launch and humorously referred to Jackson as the "most hard-hitting journalist around" and a "former Pop Start graphics assistant."

Jackson, dressed in a light-colored button-up, sat alongside the rapper, who wore a black T-shirt, hat, and chain necklace. He asked LL if he “likes where hip hop's headed now”, especially as it has "changed a lot over 50 years."

After a snippet of the interview aired live on ‘Today’ Show, Daly praised his son's performance adding his son “did a great job” and “LL was so sweet."

Daly also emphasized the importance of understanding the roots of the music genre for young music enthusiasts. He said, “These youngins need to know about who paved the way!"

Also, Craig Melvin applauded Jackson saying, “Jackson Daly? He’s gonna be quite the journalist.” Daly concluded, “I hope so, I hope not a rapper. His journalism skills are good."
