NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: ‘Today’ host Craig Melvin recently went missing from the NBC show after an on-off appearance. But this time, Melvin’s wife Lindsay Czarniak revealed the reason for his continued absence as the couple celebrates their wedding anniversary.

Czarniak took to her Instagram to share a few snaps of the couple from their wedding day.

This came after Melvin accidentally broke viral guest Lewis’ arm. The viral sensation Halloween pumpkin decoration, Lweis, was about to appear on the ‘Today’ show, but Melvin unintentionally inflicted an arm injury.

In the video, the 8-foot-tall Melvin was seen standing beside the towering decoration adorned with a pumpkin-shaped head, sporting an expression of mild surprise mixed with a hint of guilt.

However, Melvin reassured everyone that the mishap was entirely unintentional adding, “I didn’t do it on purpose.”

Craig Melvin goes missing from ‘Today’ to celebrate 12th wedding anniversary

Craig Melvin’s wife Lindsay Czarniak took to Instagram and posted several snaps of the pair from their wedding day.

She captioned the post, “2 years ago today. Fitting that on this day @craigmelvinnbc and I are playing eachother in our family fantasy football league. My win probability may not be in my favor for the matchup in fantasy today but I’d say I won in the real life category of finding the right person to spend your life with. Love you, Melvin. Happy anniversary. Cheers to many more. And I still hope I win today :) #love #anniversary #marriage"

This heartfelt post and message clarify the absence of Melvin from the most recent episode of the ‘Today’ Show.

Instead, the hosting duties were handled by Al Roker, Sheinelle Jones, and Dylan Dreyer for that particular broadcast. However, Melvin has not provided a return date to the desk as of now.

At the very least, viewers now have some insight into his whereabouts, rather than being kept uninformed.

Craig Melvin’s ‘impressive’ cake-cutting skills

Melvin channeled his inner chef after he flaunted ‘impressive’ cake-cutting skills on ‘Today’ set.

Last week, Melvin delighted his followers by sharing a behind-the-scenes Instagram video where he treated his co-stars to slices of cake. In the video, he humorously wielded a giant knife stuck in the center of the dessert.

However, Katie Stilo, a culinary produce and food stylist on ‘Today’ appeared to be concerned about the unfolding scene as she told Melvin, “Craig, the knife in the middle is a little violent looking!”

But he was later praised by correspondent Vicky Nguyen who said, “I love this so much - also your cake-cutting on-the-go skills are impressive."
