'Today' host Al Roker skips NBC show to celebrate 28th wedding anniversary as Dylan Dreyer fills in for him
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: ‘Today’ meteorologist Al Roker has recently ditched his duties from the NBC show as he took a day off to celebrate his 28th wedding anniversary.
His absence was filled in by beloved co-host Dylan Dreyer.
The 69-year-old skipped ‘Today’ on Monday, September 18 for a special occasion as his co-hosts revealed his whereabouts to the viewers.
Meanwhile, on his special day, Roker took to Instagram to celebrate his anniversary with his wife Deborah Roberts, and posted several throwback pictures from their wedding.

Why did Al Roker ditch the ‘Today’ show?
On Monday, beloved weather reporter Al Roker was nowhere to be found on his usual weather reporting segment as Dylan Dreyer reported for the day.
During the ‘Today 3rd Hour’, the usual hosts Craig Melvin and Sheinelle Jones were present, however, Roker’s absence was filled in by Dylan Dreyer as she joined them later.
During the segment, Melvin shared with the viewers, “Al's off because he's celebrating his anniversary.”
Jones chimed in adding, “This wasn't a special anniversary, was it? I can't remember which year it was.”
Melvin responded, “Every year is special. Every year with Al is special.”
Al Roker celebrates 28th wedding anniversary with Deborah Roberts
Al Roker and Deborah Roberts marked their 28th wedding anniversary, celebrating over the weekend and continuing the festivities.
Roberts gave fans a glimpse into their spicy celebration by sharing photos on her Instagram Story.
The couple began their celebration with smiles, raising glasses of champagne in a photo snapped by Roberts. Roker donned a suit jacket and black button-down shirt, while his wife wore a vibrant, multi-colored dress.
Later, she posted an image of two champagne glasses resting on a table.
A spicy touch came with a snapshot of their hotel bed adorned with rose petals. The petals formed a heart shape in the center, with others scattered around.
In another photo, the 62-year-old ‘Good Morning America’ correspondent showcased a hotel bathroom counter.
Two towels were neatly monogrammed with an "A" and a "D," with a flower placed on top and a bottle of Lorenzo Villoresi Firenze body lotion positioned behind them.
Nevertheless, it is not revealed when will Roker return on the morning show.
