NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: In a recent ‘Today’ episode, Al Roker shared a proud achievement with his followers, who praised him for his biggest career move.

‘Today’ host Al Roker recently took to his Instagram to show off an award he had been nominated for. He posted a snap of a nomination for MVAAFF Best Documentary for ‘Gaining Ground’ a film his company was involved with. In a recent Instagram post, ‘Today’ host Al Roker shared an exciting achievement with his fans. He proudly announced that the documentary ‘Gaining Ground: The Fight for Black Land’, produced by Al Roker Entertainment and directed by Eternal Polk, has been selected as a finalist in 2023 Best of the Best Documentary Competition held by the MV African American Film Festival. The film delves into the subject of Black farming in America, touching on land use, loss, and the efforts of landowners to reclaim their agricultural rights and build paths to prosperity. Roker expressed his pride in the film and thanked the MV African American Film Festival for the recognition. He captioned the post, “Thank you to the @mvaaff for selecting @gaininggroundthefilm as a finalist this year. So proud of this film, produced by @alrokerent directed by @eternalpolk and supported by @johndeere."

The beloved weatherman, accompanied by his wife Deborah Roberts, and children Leila and Nick, appeared to be enjoying their time on the lake.
