NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: ‘Today’ host Al Roker recently called out his co-host Dylan Dreyer on social media after she lost her luggage on vacation with family.

Why did Al Roker call out Dylan Dreyer?

On Saturday, July 22, Dreyer shared a post about losing her and her family’s luggage on vacation. She took to Instagram to share a snap of herself, her husband, and their three sons sitting on a bench at the airport, smiling, while suffering from a major airport blunder. She captioned the post, “Family vacation! Little did we know these would be the clothes for the whole trip because our luggage is lost in Amsterdam. We’re not in Amsterdam. All that work packing…” While Dreyer dotted in her casual vacation look with white sneakers, a long-sleeve shirt with a vest, a sunhat, and pants, her husband made sure to give the vacation vibes and match with his wife. He was seen wearing a plain white t-shirt with a backward baseball cap and slip-on shoes. On the other hand, two of their sons looked dashing in Adidas tracksuits and the youngest wore a t-shirt, sweatpants, and sneakers.

Dreyer's post was flooded with comments from a variety of people, including her friends, family, followers, and co-hosts. Her ‘Today’ co-host, Sheinelle Jones said, “Oh my goodness!” however, Roker’s comment didn’t sit right as he mocked Dreyer on her habit. At first, he commented, “Oh wow”, but then he wrote, “We never check. Even when the kids were little."

‘Dylan is the secret cheapster’

Shortly before Dreyer headed off for her vacation, Roker playfully called her out for being a ‘cheapster’. During an Instagram live just before the ‘Today’ show's filming, Roker also made a light-hearted jab at his co-host Craig Melvin and Dreyer. In the video, Roker shared behind-the-scenes secrets from the daytime TV show, capturing the busy crew on the New York set. He interacted with a stage manager and mentioned the upcoming lottery draw, teasing both Dreyer and Craig about their finances. He said, “We've got to hit Dylan up. Dylan, of course, will not have the money. Dylan - while we all know that Craig's cheap - Dylan is the secret cheapster.” Despite the playful banter, Roker complimented Dreyer on her yellow dress, playfully exclaiming, "Bringing the sunshine!"
