‘Today’ recently posted a snippet of NBC host Jenna Bush Hager revealing her dad’s advice on “what matters the most”.
Hager went on to share former President George Bush’s excellent advice to her daughter on live TV. She said, “I’ll never forget when I was working here, I was doing something and I was kind of frustrated because jobs can be frustrating”.
She continued, “This business is kind of tricky. And I was upset, and I was here at work, and I think I talked to my mom the night before.” “So, I got a text from my dad that was like, ‘Mom tells me you’re feeling kind of bummed out. Here’s the thing, this is what matters,’” Hager said.
Hager then revealed that her dad sent her a baby picture of Mila as she had just become a mom. She continued to explain while fighting back tears, “And I started weeping, and I was like, ‘He’s totally right’”.
She said while talking to co-host Hoda Kotb, “This is great. But if this is so distracting that I can’t see what blessing I have, what goodness there is then it wouldn’t be right for me, you know?”
Hager explained her viewpoint adding, “But it’s all about us realizing what we have and where our priorities lie”.
