Anthony Anderson-hosted ABC's beloved game show 'To Tell the Truth' is soon to debut its fifth season. The game show - a part of ABC's annual Summer Fun and Games slate - that pits celebrities against each other in a hilarious game of deceit and wit is making its return to the small screen and maybe it will offer a few minutes of respite in these trying times.

Release date

'To Tell the Truth' will be premiering on Thursday, May 21, 2020, on ABC.

Plot

'To Tell the Truth' "puts a panel of celebrities on the spot as they're forced to figure out which contestants are lying and who's telling the truth."

"We could all use a good laugh right about now, so why not start by watching celebrities compete against each other and guess who's telling the truth while my Mama Doris uses her expert lie-detecting skills to show them how it's done!" Anderson had said

"So grab your family, your significant other, your roommates, your pet - whoever you're staying safe with, I'll grab my Mama for family game night, and we can all try to sniff out the imposters on 'To Tell the Truth'."

Anderson is perhaps best known for the ABC sitcom 'Black-ish', a role for which he was nominated for multiple Screen Actors Guild Awards, Golden Globe Awards, Primetime Emmy Awards, and Teen Choice Awards. He is also known for 'K-Ville', 'The Shield' and as NYPD Detective Kevin Bernard on 'Law & Order'. He is serving as the host on 'To Tell the Truth' since 2016. 

According to reports, this season's celebrity panelists include Ashanti, Brad Garrett, Yara Shahidi Michael Strahan, Mark Duplass, Mike Tyson, Patti LaBelle, and Rita Moreno among others.
