'Tiny Pretty Things' Episode 4: Who is Madame Dubois sleeping with? Here's the Archer head's scandalous secret
Spoilers for 'Tiny Pretty Things'
Episode 4 titled 'Dance Dance Revolution' sees Cassie Shore's (Anna Maiche) condition worsened, Ramon Costa (Bayardo De Murguia) finds out that his secret isn't a secret anymore and June Park's (Daniela Norman) emancipation is met with a deal offered by her mother. But there was also a new detail that was a bit shocking considering we found out why Caleb (Damon J Gillespie) always thought he was close to the Archer's head Monique 'Madame' Dubois (Lauren Holly), and it's definitely not what we thought.
In a scene that seems almost randomly placed, we see Caleb lounging in Dubois' office as she pours out drinks. "It's the only room in this place where everything feels easy," he says. Caleb isn't doing too well since his dad died and he credits Dubois for helping him get through it. Turns out the duo don't have a head and student relationship and are sleeping together. The scene from kissing to intense undressing and what follows after, of course. This scene would make sense considering Caleb always had an attitude that Dubois would have his back, and now we know why.
Their foreplay talk included them talking about Neveah Stroyer (Kylie Jefferson) with Dubois telling Caleb that Neveah doesn't see that "hierarchy, history, rules... all have a place in ballet". When Caleb asked if they were "part of that tradition", Dubois tells him that "some might see it like that". Dubois was speaking of the fact that Neveah stood up to ballet master Ramon Costa (Bayardo De Murguia) when he thought it would be great to be sexist, disrespectful and an abuser during rehearsal because he received bad reviews from critics in Chicago of the gala that took place in Episode 3 'Class Act'.
When Neveah had taken this to Dubois she was told one thing, "put up or shut up". This isn't out of character for Dubois though, she seems to be a stern enthusiast of hard work even if that means the students are suffering. What did seem to be out of character was that she was willing to sleep with a student — a fact, if it came out, would be more scandalous than Cassie Shore being pushed off Archer's roof.
There is no indication if their relationship holds any water or if Dubois is using a student of the ballet academy she runs for her own pleasure and to get intel on how the student body is fairing. We know that Dubois cares a lot about keeping scandals tightly wrapped so donors don't pull out when it comes to Archer, but it seems as though Caleb might really like her. What's even more interesting is that Caleb mentions that while older men are usually seen with pretty girls, what he had with Dubois was different. With all the other hookups going on, this defiantly seems to be an odd one and we're hoping future episodes will expand on this Caleb and Dubois side romance.
