Thor: Love and Thunder’ has finally made its way to the theatres and fans are flocking the theatres to see the latest movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The movie sees the God of Thunder coming out from retirement to tackle a new and dangerous threat, Gorr the God Butcher. As the name suggests, Gorr kills Gods and wants them extinct. Thor (Chris Hemsworth) must team up with his friends, including King Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson) and ex-lover Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), to defeat the evil.

Social media is abuzz with a lot of reactions to the Taika Waititi-directorial and netizens are pretty much divided with how the movie has turned out to be. Even though the reviews from critics as well as the audience are mixed, there’s one aspect of the movie that is garnering universal acclaim and that’s Christian Bale’s menacing portrayal of Gorr the God Butcher.

The actor made a comeback to the superhero world with ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’, but this time, in a negative role. Bale portrayed the role of Batman in Christopher Nolan’s ‘The Dark Knight’ trilogy and garnered a lot of praise. However, it seems the actor has outdone himself by playing a villain in the MCU. Fans can’t stop raving about the star and called him the best part of the movie.

One of the fans wrote, “#ChristianBale's acting is fu**in' amazing as #Gorr He made everyone think what he does is right. He easily steals the show every time he appears. His looks, eyes, laugh every detail of him is terrific. He is one of the finest villains in the #MCU.” Another social media user said, “#ChristianBale as #Gorr was villainous, menacing, scary, and everything that a villain should be.” Another Christian Bale fan tweeted, “The only good thing about #ThorLoveandThunder is #ChristianBale. The man did not let down even for a split second! And thankfully was not caricaturized like the rest of the characters.”

Meanwhile, one of the fans opined that Bale didn’t deserve a mediocre script. The user wrote, “No No No... No Man No!! Christian Bale deserved a much better screen time, a much better role, a much better script, and overall a much better MCU debut!! His portrayal of Gorr will stay with me but probably not the movie,” another fan tweeted.
“#ThorLoveandThunder is average but #ChristianBale is a super villain. He overshadowed the whole movie. I think without him movie is not worthy to watch,” tweeted another fan. “Christian Bale as the God Butcher was absolutely elite. That lad can act!” said another one.

Another fan shared, “Honestly, #ChristianBale felt too good for #ThorLoveandThunder. His acting & character felt out of place with the rest of the story.”

This is the fourth time that Bale has appeared in a superhero movie and the first time, in a villainous role. Everyone expected a god-level performance from the Oscar-winning actor, and it seems Bale has exactly done that. However, the response to the movie has been lukewarm. Fans and critics have slammed the movie for being a let-down after ‘Ragnarok’, which was hailed as one of the best Marvel movies ever.
