'Thor: Love and Thunder' has finally made its way to the theaters. Taika Waititi's second film sees the return of Chris Hemsworth as Thor Odinson, and also the inclusion of several new characters such as Christian Bale as Gorr the God Butcher, and a familiar face in Natalie Portman as the Mighty Thor aka Thor's ex-girlfriend Jane Foster.

Despite the early leaks, the movie has been well-received by the audience and comes as a welcome change, especially after the botched 'Doctor Strange' sequel. 'Love and Thunder' also marks Hemsworth's fourth standalone movie for his character. Unlike his fellow OG Avengers, Chris Hemsworth's character now has one more flick than Captain America and Iron Man. While fans have been flocking the cinemas to catch the latest Thor adventure, there have also been questions about when it releases on Disney+. Here, we estimate the date of its release on the streamer.

When will 'Thor: Love and Thunder' release on Disney+ ?

The usual pattern of a Marvel film hitting the stream is 45 days after the date of release. This was first observed in 2021 after 'Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings' and has continued since. 'Eternals' and 'Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness' followed a similar route and that would mean 'Love and Thunder' may be available on Disney+ from August 22 onwards.

The timeline for rent on digital video stores like Prime Video, Apple TV, Vudu, and YouTube differs as fans may have to wait at least two-three months from the date of release. This could mean the Chris Hemsworth-starrer might be available between the last week of September or October later this year.

In the meantime, for those who haven't caught the flick yet, here's the official synopsis. "Thor embarks on a journey unlike anything he's ever faced -- a quest for inner peace. However, his retirement gets interrupted by Gorr the God Butcher, a galactic killer who seeks the extinction of the gods. To combat the threat, Thor enlists the help of King Valkyrie, Korg and ex-girlfriend Jane Foster, who -- to his surprise -- inexplicably wields his magical hammer. Together, they set out on a harrowing cosmic adventure to uncover the mystery of the God Butcher's vengeance."
