LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: HBO Max original 'The Last of Us' has successfully continued its streak and managed to bring fans to an emotional breaking point once again. The sixth episode of 'The Last of Us' not only successfully recreated one of the most iconic scenes of the game but also surprised fans by showing a vulnerable Joel.

After the hopeful fourth and a devastating fifth episode, fans of the show were prepared for some heartbreak in the sixth. But the episode's weight of emotion exceeded fans' expectations - in a good way. 'The Last of Us', an ongoing global phenomenon, is considered a faithful adaptation of the game. The dystopian series sees Pedro Pascal as Joel Miller and Bella Ramsey as Ellie Williams as the primary leads.

Episode 6, 'Kin'

Titled 'Kin', the sixth episode sees Joel reuniting with his estranged brother Tommy (Gabriel Luna). 3 months after escaping death in Kansas City, Ellie and Joel finally find Tommy, who is currently thriving in Jackson. Joel's emotional vulnerability shows through in the scene where he pleads with Tommy to do the final relay of his journey by taking Ellie to the Firefly base in Colorado. In this recreated scene, we see Joel opening up to Tommy with teary eyes about all the losses and the pain he endured and his fear. Joel asks his brother to protect Ellie as he no longer feels capable of it.

The devastating scene where Joel shares his pain with his brother and recounts his ongoing nightmare has tugged at the viewers' heartstrings. Joel's reminder of his past and the memory of losing someone made fans go teary-eyed, and many took to the internet to share the emotional experience.
