A heartwarming family drama, 'This Is Us' binds the past, present and future together to meld into a beautiful story. Starring Sterling K Brown, Mandy Moore and Milo Ventimiglia, the show brings surprising elements with emotional clashes and suspenseful reveals.

Each season begins with the Big Three celebrating their birthdays and as the fifth one rolls, Kevin, Kate and Randall will be 40.

Shedding light on what's in store for the next season, creator Dan Fogelman told People, "I'm very excited about, especially with where the world is right now, the uplift, and I would call it almost rebirth, that comes next season. Kind of rebirth and a lot of new beginnings, particularly for birth and rebirth would be a big thematic part of next season."

What's more, the showrunner also teases: "There’s going to be something big in the season premiere."

Release date

Season 5 of 'This Is Us' was all set to kick off with a two-hour premiere on November 10. However, the hit series will be back sooner than expected on October 27. NBC made the announcement in a commercial that aired during America's Got Talent’ on Wednesday, September 23. The season-opener will still be two hours long.

Dishing on the release date, Mandy Moore posted: "I’m beyond excited to share some VERY good news: Season 5 of #ThisIsUs will kick off with a two-hour premiere on November 10th! Grateful to have a job I love so much and can’t wait to see my work family soon!!"



 

Sterling K Brown too shared the date and wrote: "MARK YOUR CALENDARS!! #ThisIsUs is BACK Tues. 11/10."



 

Plot

'This Is Us' has managed to build a beautiful world of the extended Pearson family. Season 4 ends with Randall and Kevin's big fight and in the flash-forward, they do not seem to be on talking terms but do come to see their mother, Rebecca.

The finale shows Kate's son Jack Damon as a grown-up man, who is now a famous musician. He is married to Lucy and gives birth to a baby girl, Hope. He also has an adopted sister named Hailey. And Kevin is the father of adorable twins. 

As the new season comes back, the show may etch out the storylines of all the kids of The Big Three.

Sterling K Brown plays the role of Randall Pearson in 'This Is Us'. The actor earned Primetime Emmy Award and a Golden Globe Award for his performance. He was recently seen in a cameo as Shy Baldwin on 'The Marvelous Mrs Maisel'.

Mandy Moore plays Rebecca Pearson in the NBC series. Awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, she is known for movies like 'A Walk to Remember' (2002), 'Chasing Liberty' (2004), 'Racing Stripes' (2005), 'Because I Said So' (2007), 'License to Wed' (2007), and 'Love, Wedding, Marriage' (2011).

She was also nominated for the Golden Globe Award, Primetime Emmy Award and won two Screen Actors Guild Awards for 'This Is Us'.

The other names in the cast include Milo Ventimiglia as Jack, Chrissy Metz as Kate, Justin Hartley as Kevin, Susan Kelechi Watson as Beth, Chris Sullivan as Toby Damon and Jon Huertas as Miguel Rivas.

Towards the end of the Season 4 finale, a few fresh faces were seen and they might have an important role to play in the forthcoming season. While Blake Stadnik has an important role as Jack Damon, Auden Thornton plays Lucy Damon.

Moreover, a set of fresh faces will be seen, including Adelaide Kane as Hailey, Josh Hamilton as Eli and Glory Rose as Sadie.
