Packed with a rush of emotions, ‘This Is Us’ struck a chord with its two-hour premiere for Season 5 and ended with a major cliffhanger. After the two episodes titled ‘Forty: Part One and Two’ ended, only one question was buzzing through most minds: Is Randall Pearson's (Sterling K Brown) birth mom alive? Played by Jennifer C Holmes, the character of Laurel with the young Willaim (Jermel Nakia) has only been shown sporadically through the last four seasons.

If you can't wait to watch the third episode, here are the details we know. Titled ‘Changes’, the episode summary reads: “Kevin and Madison navigate their engagement as Kate and Toby take a big step in their adoption journey. Jack and Rebecca brace for puberty.” It seems Toby Damon (Chris Sullivan) and Kate Pearson (Chrissy Metz) will move towards adopting their little baby soon enough.

In a new 15-second promo, Toby and Kate meet a new woman who tells them, “Got a strong feeling about you guys.” In another conversation, Toby tells Kate, “We're dealing with a single mother who could change her mind about us.”

So, when will the next episode air? Sadly, for fans eagerly waiting for the next episode, there's a bit of bad news. ‘This Is Us’ will not air on NBC next week and the episode date has been moved a week further.

Why is the next episode not airing next week? America is all set for the 2020 Election Night as President Donald Trump and Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden contend against each other. Keeping that in mind, most network channels have postponed the regular TV shows by one week and the same goes for NBC's ‘This Is Us’.

Going by the official schedule, NBC has listed ‘NBC Nightly News With Lester Holt’ at 7.30 pm ET followed by ‘NBC News Special: Decision 2020 Election Night’ from 8 pm ET to 12 am ET.

Many fans were a little disheartened to hear that. “So happy @NBCThisisUs is back. Have to wait two weeks for the next episode though. First two episodes were great. Solid start to season five #ThisIsUs,” one fan said and another posted, “PLEASE AND NEXT WEEK IS ELECTION DAY SO WE NEED TO WAIT 2 more weeks for #ThisIsUs next episode.” A third said, “I DON'T WANT ELECTION NIGHT I WANT THE NEXT EPISODE OF #ThisIsUs.”
