'This is Us' Season 4: Will Kevin meet his baby mama or will he become a father via adoption or surrogacy?
Season 4 of NBC's 'This is Us' is premiering on Tuesday, September 24, and knowing the show, it is going to make us wait before answering all the big questions. While the wait is going to be long, it is also going to be worthwhile and will introduce new storylines, new characters, new backstories, and new potentials.
One of the biggest storylines we can't wait to see is that of Kevin Pearson (Justin Hartely) finding the woman of his dreams — again. We know that he has been in love a couple of times — each of these relationships started with a lot of promise but eventually collapsed. One woman who has loved him all his life learned the hard way that until Kevin really wanted to change and fix his problems, he just cannot. And the other woman taught him that it is not enough to want to want something, he needs to recognize what he wants and work towards it.
Sobriety has not come easily for Kevin, but in the present storyline, he has at least learned how to ask for help, and will hopefully eventually learn to recognize his triggers. He does not see addiction in his family and this adds to his feeling of loneliness within the Pearson household, but finding Nicky (Griffin Dunne) gives him a purpose in life and reminds him that he is not the only one that needs help in his family. He knows that his father was an alcoholic theoretically, but he never saw it in person, but having Nicky in his life reminds him that he is not an addict out of choice, nor does it make him any less of a Pearson.
He will find ways to excel in life, and for him that also includes being a father, which he does become as we see in one of the flash-forward scenes of Season 3 finale. It remains to be seen how fatherhood comes to him. Will he find the woman whom he wants to raise children with in Season 4? Will we see him take the route of adoption or surrogacy for the same? It remains to be seen.
The fact that he may still be looking into her father's past, and may come across Jennifer Morrison's character during one of his trips gives us hope that she may just be the woman to mother his children. We will know for sure when Season 4 premieres on NBC on Tuesday night.
