'This is Us' Season 4: With a new home and fresh responsibilities for Randall and Beth, is divorce still on the cards?

We saw one of the most perfect TV couples go through what is possibly their biggest fight and there were many moments where we felt that they might not make it out in one piece.

'This is Us' is known to make its viewers shed a tear or two, but the last few episodes of season three were particularly heartbreaking, especially for fans of Beth (Susan Kelechi Watson) and Randall (Sterling K Brown).

We saw one of the most perfect TV couples go through what is possibly their biggest fight and there were many moments where we felt that they might not make it out in one piece.

Randall is the perfect example of a dreamer who doesn't always understand boundaries – especially his own boundaries. Hoping to have it all and be it all, he started out on a political career, despite knowing fully well that his wife wants the light to shine on her for once and that his daughter is figuring out her sexuality.

Even though Beth made it abundantly clear that she would not be able to support him as she used to if he were to continue on the path that he is on, Randall decides to go ahead and do what he always does – whatever he wants. Their marriage hits rock bottom pretty soon after that, and again, Beth had to come up with an ingenious solution to save it.

She decided to move the family to Philadelphia so Randall can be closer to his new job, and he can focus on his constituents without compromising on family time. Beth, meanwhile, still gets to prioritize ballet.

While it seems like they are back on track, what remains to be seen is for how long? In one of the flash-forwards in the mid-season three finale, Beth was seen without a ring, but the showrunners made sure they zoomed in on the finger in the season three finale so that fans could rest assured that they will not break up.

Moreover, in an interview with the Hollywood Reporter, Brown revealed that the couple will be back on solid ground when the show returns in season four. He said that "instead of glossing over whatever concerns [Beth] may have about what she's looking for, now that she's refound this passion [for dance], he's paying attention. And I think she's vocalizing too."

He elaborated, "Both things are important: The partner who tends to be the dominant, bigger personality paying attention, and the person who tends to allow that dominant personality to be like, 'You know what, I'm here. And you've got to recognize me as well'. So I think they get a chance to get to a deeper level in their relationship."

That let us feeling better about Beth and Randall’s future, but we wouldn’t want to take anything for granted when it comes to 'This is Us'. Find out the status of their relationship when season four premieres on Tuesday, September 24.
